Yeah sorry to start a thread for this/like this. If mods want to delete, fair play.

Just looking for some help and advice. So many here seem so seasoned with buying BDs.

I’d love to own an HD copy of The Ambulance (1990). Shout are finally releasing one in March, but it’s about £26 to import. I’ve imported, but not much since £ died and Amazon US hiked postage etc.

I’ve come close many times to going German for a media book, again about £28 but the book is in German, which I’m not and I do prefer English covers.

So, no sight of a uk release, not sure this even had a dvd here? But on eBay they have a Spanish release for about £10. It looks (not a photo of the item but stock photo) like the new Shout release and the German media cover art.
But I’ve seen in the Spain thread (looks like no ones been there since August last year) threads titled Spanish Bootlegs. This site doesn’t list a Spanish release so can anyone help out a fellow member with ‘Is this safe to buy’ etc...

So is the Spainh one legit, I’d rather spend £10 over £25+ for basically the same item. Or any news concrete that Arrow, 88 or whoever has this lined up.

Some of the Spanish releases are bootleg even though the company which produces them are legit. Many of the TT's releases for example, have seen Spanish releases which are on BD-R discs and I read on dvdbeaver that the disc won't be playing after few years (not sure how it works and tried finding about it on the web but no luck yet) .

I would avoid the Spanish disc, as it looks very much like an unlicensed bootleg. The US Blu-ray will be a genuine release with new extras, and it appears to be £15.62 at WOW HD, though. It seems like that may be the place to get it from, as there is a large thread dedicated to them here.

If you wait until closer to the time it won't cost £26, it'll be about £16-18 at WowHD.

Thanks all. Will order from Wow. Championed Wow for a while and no problem using them, they just didn’t have it listed when I looked a couple of weeks ago

I have the Spanish bluray release. PQ is fantastic and it's a genuine pressed disc. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it.
