Has anyone ever experienced this?
I was watching Disney+ and suddenly the screen went black and then to the TV saying “no signal detected”. However the audio kept going. |

I only added that I was watching Disney+ to show that I was just watching something normally - I didn’t expect it as a cause. Any idea what does it? |

I had a similar issue but in my case I would lose audio for a second, but still have video.
Turned out in my situation it was an issue with my Ethernet cable not being fast enough. Replaced it with a new Cat6 Ethernet cable and it solved the issue I was experiencing with random audio drops. I’ve also had HDMI cables go bad on me in the past. Have you tried swapping the HDMI cable out with a new one (ultra high speed certified 48gbps)? |

The cause of losing A/V signals has various reasons unknown to the subscribers that, only the technical staff of the company can resolve. Streaming apps are subjected to any temporary A/V technical difficulties due to the source of their transmissions via worldwide web.

Trying another cable is a good idea, but the Apple TV can't utilize more than 18 Gbps, so a standard High Speed cable is fine. If I had to guess the black screen was probably caused by a loose contact in the cable or connectors.

Thank you but as I said this is the first time it has happened (and I last did an update on Christmas Eve) so there isn’t any point in anything intel’s it happens again.
I stared the thread because there was nothing on Google and I thought the reason it happens might be a cataclysmic one for the AppleTV. If it does happen again I have the suggestions here. ![]() |

This particular issue isn't affecting me, but I do have a rather curious one, not sure where the blame lies, Samsung TV, Apple TV box, or the app. However, when watching a 4k HDR on Disney+ the HDR will 'stop working' after about 10 seconds and the resulting image is a pin sharp 4k in washed out colours. It also affects Amazon Prime.
Product purchased from Apple iTunes, and content streamed from ATV+ all looks fantastic like you'd expect, and using the native apps on the Samsung TV everything looks great too. It's kind of annoying - anyone else seen this kind of thing? |
