One thing I have noticed is now they only offer Expedited Shipping. Normally, you'd have the option for Priority.

Yesterday I ordered a Blu-ray from a third-party seller on Amazon UK and this morning I get an email from them:

"Hi, i have just been to the post office to post your item, but have been informed that as i do not have a GST tax number on the parcel, it will not make it through customs in Australia and get to you.
I've since looked into this and it appears that Amazon.co.uk items are no longer sellable to Australia, and only Amazon.au items can can sent from the UK."

What is this shit????

That is correct you can only send items to Australia from overseas if you prepay your GST. Is why most U.K. retailers stopped mailing there.

Do Amazon U.K. collect Australian GST at checkout for items they sell on their own account if you buy from them or blacklist you as well.

I know Amazon Marketplace and eBay in the U.K. collect VAT for the EU under their IOSS arrangement but not sure if they do similar for exports to Australia from the U.K.

BTW the Post Office is following the rules only accepting packages with correct tax code as otherwise will be rejected by Australian customs. The staff member actually seemed to know the rules which is unusual.

I recently ordered a couple of Blu-rays from Amazon UK which they stocked themselves and they had no issue sending them to me.
