I know that the chances of anyone knowing anything about this Japanese blu-ray release is probably between none and none, but I'll give it a shot anyway: anybody have any information about the quality of this blu-ray? Anyone? Anyone?

You have to wait for Spanish release by Divisa scheduled on October 4 2018.

Well, I don't know about the Spanish release, but I did get some pretty good info from a member who had the Japanese release in their collection, and I placed my order a week ago. IF the Spanish release turns out to be head and shoulders above the Japanese version I'll consider double-dipping, but I am doubtful that I'll ever even see a review of the Spanish disc. However, if you see it and review it, I'll certainly be interested in your opinions.

I have owned the Japanese BD since it was first released. It is watchable, but lower your expectations. It's an old master and it has a fair share of scratches and speckling. It needs to be cleaned up and remastered.

Which brings me to this: Studiocanal is releasing a blu ray of Carnal Knowledge in France on 3/9/22. https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Carna...lu-ray/307702/. I can't find any info yet regarding whether it is a new remaster. With shipping, the cost would be $35 and change.

A 4K restoration has been done. I bet this increases the chances of a domestic HD release. Additionally, the Cleveland Cinematheque is screening the new restoration on Saturday and Sunday if anyone here is interested.
