How about the life raft ending? In my screening, that was sandwiched between the explosion and the hotel room scene and I remember it there as clearly as I remember orange sherbert.

It may have been related to the infamous Princess Diana edit. They might have sourced prints from abroad, maybe from America, rather than have to cut the "Prince Charles had an affair" joke out of hundreds of UK prints. They had 4 full working days between Princess Diana's death (Aug 31st 1997) and the theatrical release (Sep 5th 1997) to remove it. I saw a preview showing of the film in mid August through a magazine and all the scenes mentioned above were there, including Christian Slater and the 2 henchman scenes.
