Especially annoying when See How They Run is a British film with quite a few well known British and Irish actors so I’m sure it would shift quite a few units within this territory. Surely a funny whodunnit would make for a good stocking filler, especially with all the Agatha Christie BDs/DVDs out there.

Barbarian is one of my favourites of this year, and it seems to have performed better than expected theatrically, so I hope that gets a disc too. Speaking of Disney: many recent National Geographic Documentary Films haven’t been getting discs (Torn, Fire of Love, The Territory, I was hoping Dogwoof would release discs of them.

The Cordillera of Dreams will be released on DVD by New Wave on 28th November - the US Blu-ray (released two years ago!) is region free.

All that Breathes doesn’t have a preorder yet, but I’m confident Criterion will do a US release next year.

If you mean the Roald Dahl film that’s out in a few weeks, I thought it was Netflix worldwide except U.K. & Ireland where it’s Sony. I presume as it’s a classic British children’s story they think there’s money to be made here from a cinema release rather than just straight online.

Sony are hit and miss on what they release and if it’s only on disc here I guess would be BD at best.

Irish horror You Are Not My Mother, which Signature Entertainment released to VOD and limited theatrical on 8th April and various festivals will receive a German Blu-ray release on 23rd March.

Any news on The Banshees of Inisherin? I really, really hope it gets a Blu-ray...I'd love to own it as it's an immediate favourite (I noticed it's coming to Disney+ on December 21st, if people didn't catch it theatrically). It did very well and was showing for several weeks locally, so fingers crossed that's enough for Disney to give it the HD bump on disc...surely more deserving than Amsterdam (which is also popping up on Disney+ in early December, and I'll watch it on there shortly afterwards).

Well...this sucks. Hopefully if there's no HMV exclusive or whatnot, then a label here might distribute it (probably Dazzler Media, Fabulous/Mediumrare etc...obviously better if Arrow or Second Sight got it, but might be a tough sell and hardly a 'genre' film).

Universal will release Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris in Australia, but it's unclear whether the language package will be what is on the UK DVD (presumably identical to the the announced German Blu-ray) or if it will be a port of the US BD, which has burned-in subtitles for the French dialogue:

Also, a word of caution on Crossfire. The UK DVD (unfortunately no UK BD from Dazzler for this one) mentions it is a 3x60 series, but the German listings say it is 4x45:

There is unfortunately a lot of precedent for German companies re-cutting BBC content for 45-minute slots, and it seems like Crossfire will be another casualty. It does claim to run 200 minutes, so it's possible that content is only re-cut and not deleted, but the practice is still disturbing.

I just checked Iplayer - three episodes, 55, 56, 55 minutes. It's on Iplayer for nine months.

The US Blu-ray is on December 20th, maybe one will pop up in Australia but otherwise I wouldn’t be shocked if importing is the only option considering the precedent with other recent Searchlight/20th Century titles. Of course as an Irish film surely making it available for the Irish/British market would make so much sense, especially as McDonagh has pretty much always had Blu-rays in Ireland/UK.

Seeing recent Universal titles like The Sisters Brothers licensed out to Arrow for UHD definitely gives me some hope for more like it years down the line - but that’s still 4 years after its release.

I wouldn't be surprised to see it pop up suddenly this week, but if not, then perhaps they are waiting for the Oscar and BAFTA nominations to come out in January. I'd be pretty shocked if it doesn't get a UK BD, even if that's simply a direct port of the US BD.
