Will be having my 2nd shipment sent off soon. Just wondering how consolidation works with multiple packages? Does it mean they'll pack everything in a bigger box with bubble wrap or do you have to add that as an extra after consolidating?

Well, for me, since 1 item came in a big box, and 2 items came in small bags, they have the sense to put all 3 into the same big box.

They'll put everything in a new box after removing them from their original envelopes or boxes. They generally add bubble wrap as standard.

If I have £100 to spend in total, what would be the maximum amount I should spend on an order in dollars (excluding shipping)? Forgive me, but I'm incredibly stupid when it comes to this.

You can spend what you like, but it's £135 before you go over. You fill out the customs form on the Stackry site. All of my orders have been around that amount.

As Chip says if you keep under £135 (excluding shipping) you should be safe from custom charges. That's based on my experience of shipping more than 30 packages via Stackry, it's not an absolute guarantee.

No, I mean if I only have £100 in my PayPal account, how much can I spend before Stackry shipping charges? I don't want to order stuff I can't then pay for.

On a side note, does anyone here do UK group buys that a donut like me could partake in?

It will be weight dependent, I usually factor in around $25-30 for shipping, so around £75. Bear in mind that if your order arrives in multiple packages, you need to factor in consolidation fees, which are $2 a package, but Amazon should tell you what's getting split up.

Group buys are probably too small unless you have a mate nearby, then you can share postage and drop stuff off in person.

But if it's just one or two items you might find a member who doesn't mind adding to their order.

Also you can store your items for a while if you want to wait before getting hit with shipping.

Has anyone had any experience with asking Stackry to repackage a consolidated parcel?

I originally decided against the bubble wrap protection, but got jittery about potential damage, so asked if it was possible to add the bubble wrap, however because the package had already been consolidated I was told it would be $5 for the bubble wrap and another $5 repacking fee. Not the end of the world for a bit of peace of mind so I agreed. Just got another confirmation that the package has been consolidated again, but I noticed that not only have they charged me $10 for the extra bubble wrap and repacking fee, but also lumped me with another $18 consolidation fee on top of the $16 consolidation fee they originally charged. I've sent them a message to ask what's going on as that extra consolidation fee was never mentioned, and I never agreed to it.

I haven't but I've found their consolidated packaging decent enough. I guess the issue could be that you'd also need pictures of some of the items before adding extra protection and consolidation. One of my box sets arrived opened and damaged before getting to Stackry, but I knew it was Amazon's fault.

Unless it's super delicate I'd stick to normal consolidation and let the insurance sort out damaged expensive items. But from my limited experience they're pretty well packed.

I thought I remembered reading that there insurance only covered loss not damage, I could be wrong it's early. However, I've always found their standard packaging good enough.

My package cleared customers on 6 December but no further update sadly. Not sure if the postal strikes have something to do with it

Like Modman posted, it's also worth checking if the insurance covers damage or just loss.
