It was at first yes, my store never got it in.
I've looked today and it seems the US blu is only $7.50 currently, so I guess I just need to get it now before I double regret it

There was a special edition that was HMV limited exclusive, then a more widely available one was released, I can't remember if it was still a HMV only. I still remember thinking I will just walk into store, reserve one and pick it up on release day instead of ordering on line.

So want, ordered, got my confirmation went on release day to be told that only got X copies in they were reserved, the way he spoke I have a feeling staff themselves had essentially snapped them all up.

Welcome and surprising considering Clerks II never got a Bluray over here! Wonder if HMV will put out a 3 pack a la Bill & Ted.

While doing the promo rounds for Clerks III Kevin Smith basically said home video sales of Jay and Silent Bob Reboot were so strong that Lionsgate offered to fund whatever he had ready to go as long as it was under a certain price point due to the potential of dvd/blu-ray sales. I believe they split the distro rights with Universal on Reboot so it's no surprise they are locking them down worldwide for themselves on this one, and also why they are pushing physical sales.

I do hope it has some decent extras. The supplemental packages of Smith's movies were legendary back in the day with great docs and hilarious, informative commentaries but he seemed to lose interest once his podcast empire took off. There was a solid Making Of for Reboot but I think it was finished too late to make the disc and is only available on digital. Would be nice if this one had a good array of supplements to match the Clerks and Clerks II discs!

Extras for the US release are listed as commentary, The Clerks III Documentary, We're Not Even Supposed To Be Here Today: 3 Decades of Clerks Documentary and Deleted and Alternate Scenes. Presumably these will be on the UK release considering it’s Lionsgate in both territories.

I saw the film last week. It’s a lot sillier than the other two, nowhere near as crude/explicit so can’t imagine anything requiring cuts. Where does it say the film was cut?

The compulsory cut was to remove the MPA rating card that would most probably have appeared before the film starts (similar to the BBFC rating card) - something Lionsgate UK should have removed prior to submission anyway. The BBFC had to make a similar cut to the 12A rated trailer too. They have made cuts like this in the past but I am struggling to recall for which films. Either way, it makes zero difference, so I really wouldn't worry about it.

I liked the film, although it took a little while to warm to it as it starts off a bit shaky IMO (jokes about NFT's etc didn't really land for me).

Ah, not really anything to worry about then! It was nice to see the characters again for sure but I thought it was one of Smith's weakest films. Felt very sitcommy and more in silly Jay and Silent Bob territory for a lot of its running time rather than the more grounded, banter-driven previous Clerks movies. The Elias running gags dried up real quick. I also thought it looked like cheap TV, overlit with very boring direction, which is saying something for Smith. Still a fan of his though.

The release date has slipped 3 weeks to 26th Dec. Thought to check in case HMV had an early exclusive like last time but 26th all round. There will be an HMV-exclusive UK 3-pack of the Clerks trilogy, but on DVD only, which is slightly bizarre. It's also only a disc for each film so presumably the second film is missing a lot (all?) of its extras. Even though that film didn't get a UK Bluray, all its extras went through the BBFC in 2006 so it shouldn't have been difficult to do a Bluray set here.

The first film also had a 3-disc 10th anniversary release, so that one's going to be missing a lot too...
