Blu-ray Samurai

![]() ![]() http://www.amazon.de/The-Loved-Ones-...A3JWKAKR8XB7XF Does anybody own this? I am pretty close to ordering it from Germany as it is the only country with a special edition. I really just want to know one thing, are the German subtitles burned in or are they optional? And if by any chance anybody could comment on the picture and audio quality on this edition it would be great ![]() Last edited by samlop10; 09-11-2012 at 06:08 AM. Reason: Image added |

Well there are more special features in the German Special edition than there are in the UK edition (commentary, trailers, special effects, etc.). I am going by the back cover btw, since I have not actually seen them. As for the transfer it seems to be the same, except the UK has English subs and the German has only German subs. Plus the German one comes with a (cool :P) slip cover.

Getting ahold of a new, sealed copy of this imported into the U.S. has been a Herculean task but one finally arrived on my doorstep today at last! I’m so stoked to have the best edition worldwide (a shame about those absent English subs, though) of this wicked, astonishingly underseen (hell, under-heard-of) movie! If you love horror films and you haven’t checked this one out, DO IT! Hell, do a double-feature with HOUNDS OF LOVE and marvel at how well they do horror Down Under!

Umbrella is trying to secure the rights to this title, since Feb when I informed them Madman no longer distributes it.
I imagine it'll be a Beyond Genres title. I really want Second Sight or 101 Films or even Shout! to release their own CE so Umbrella can have extras to license. Otherwise I don't imagine Madman will give them everything nor will Umbrella produce their own extras or film new interviews. Indie labels gotta be thrifty. |
