TV Shows in SD upgraded later? - Blu-ray Forum

Hello everyone 👋

I was wondering if iTunes upgrades TV shows to HD when they become available. ie. Frasier just got a blu-ray release. iTunes HD likely not far behind?

No SD to HD upgrades, reason being they sell in both SD and HD/Higher Quality options.

My compete series of Growing Pains got upgrade for free from SD to HD. The files look beautiful.

it didn't. as everyone else has said, they do not upgrade from SD to HD.

Hoping someday they’ll offer TV shows in 4K, though, and do free upgrades from HD. It would be nice for my Game of Thrones seasons to be 4K eventually.

But yeah, I wish they’d upgrade the SD purchases to HD when those become available. I think so far I only have The Simpsons season 1 in a situation where it’s SD and an HD version came out later. They altered the aspect ratio from 4:3 to 16:9, but didn’t upgrade it to HD in my collection.
