Already pre-ordered my copy of this film. Have heard lots of good things about it so can't wait to see it. What's more the Blu-ray is actually being sold at a reasonable price (for a new title) - £12.99 on Play. Mine should be here by this weekend hopefully

Finally watched this last night via Netlfix, in HD. Excellent film, especially knowing that this was Cary Fukunaga's feature debut. It's nothing like El Norte, besides the delicate subject matter ("immigration") -- whereas El Norte depicted the struggle beforehand, a different perspective of the journey and the struggle after reaching The North -- Sin Nombre seems to be strictly about the journey, although travelling by train than through rat infested tunnels.
The young lady who played Sayra did an absolutely great job delivering; the same goes for first time actor Edgar Flores who played Casper (Willy). Lastly, the young boy, Smiley, did a great job as a naive ankle-biter who displays the heart, desire and loyalty to prove himself worthy of the deadly street gang Mara Salvatrucha (MS13). Definitely go see this when you get a chance. Who knows how long it will be available for streaming in HD via Netflix. First day purchase right here! |

I watched this over the weekend. Great film, and everything from the acting to the cinematography was excellent. My only criticism of the Blu-ray is the pathetic extras - just an audio commentary (which I haven't listened to yet) and some deleted scenes. No making-of doc, interviews etc
![]() I do love that poster though that's at the start of this thread. Would love to get hold of one. Last edited by nightcrawler; 02-01-2010 at 05:57 PM. |

Confirmation:
The Blu-ray disc has forced PAL content that CAN NOT be skipped. Therefore, this makes it a Region-B "locked" release. I am flagging Sin Nombre as Region-B "locked" release in the database. If you do not have a Region-Free player capable of converting PAL to NTSC, you won't be able to access the disc's content. Our review will up soon.
