Wonderful movie and looked terrific on Blu!

Was just wondering why on the discs main menu it said "Spanish dolby digital 5.1" but Pro-B and the back cover say "Dolby-TrueHD"

It's primarily dialogue driven so it doesn't make a difference either way it's still a great film!!

Good evening,

One possible explanation would be that whoever was asked to design the BD menu was given the SDVD audio specs. But, our info is correct -- the actual audio track is indeed Spanish Dolby TrueHD 5.1. Perhaps Revolver's tech guys simply did a typo and it was too late to correct it.

Update:

I just tested the disc again, and unfortunately it does not play on my Region-A PS3. The player cannot bypass the forced PAL content in the beginning (and I do have the latest firmware installed). The disc does not play on my Sony 360 either. However, I also have a Panasonic player, and as you (Donaldheil) stated, it does work on it.

This said, I am a little hesitant to change the official Region-coding info because there seems to be a "bug" of some sort with a number of Region-A Panasonic models that allow them to play Region-B "locked" discs. For example, Optimum's "Gomorrah" disc, which is Region-B "locked", can be played on Panasonic BD30, 50, and 55. There are a couple of other Region-B "locked" discs that are also playable.

I will, however, leave a note on the main listing that you have been able to play the disc.

Hi folks, new member here as I just registered. I hate to begin my membership by digging up this old thread, but this is such a great movie. I just watched it on Netflix last night and it's definitely "buy worthy" in my opinion. Was looking around for a Blu-Ray copy this afternoon and it seems that is only sold in Blu-Ray form abroad (Europe). I wasn't sure if this title was region locked so I'd been searching a bit. I'm happy to say, my search brought me to this forum and this thread was able to provide me with the answer. I'm sad to say, it was not the answer I was looking for!

Does anybody know if this title will be released in Blu-Ray form for North America? Maybe they just think Americans aren't appreciative of indie budget films, but I am!

Yes, welcome to the forum.

I wish the logic of what distributors release on blu-ray could be reduced to something like 'the US will never distribute indie films', or 'the UK always distributes indie films', but its a bit more complicated than that.

I picked up this title due to a review which claimed the disc was region-free in error. I eventually decided to pick up a cheap region-free Momitsu clone for about $130. It was a very good investment and one that I hope is within your means because region-free capability makes all (or most of) the angst created by region coding go bye-bye.

This film still isn't out yet on Blu in the states? Wow. Usually it's us here this side of the pond moaning about a film not being available! I'm not suprised you're upset about it I would be too. Have seen this a couple of times so far and really enjoyed it.

I just rented the movie last night - a truly great, touching, and exciting movie. I'm not sure if I would buy it on blu-ray, but it's a movie that definitely needs to be seen.

I was very surprised to see the main villain from Mel Gibson's Apocalypto, played by Gerardo Taracena, play one of the protagonists in this film. He really is an amazing actor - totally nice and likable in Sin Numbre, while totally scary and intimidating in Apocalypto...

So, I kinda gave up on getting this on Blu-Ray (see my post above) but then I just stumbled upon this German BD release of Sin Nombre.



According to this site, it's untested as to whether it is region locked. Does anybody have this particular version in their collection? Can anybody verify whether or not this is region locked? Thanks again guys!

Fluent in Spanish, but not German. But you were right, the two owners of this version got back to me and let me know that it IS region B locked. Bummer.

Why this is not available to buy at a reasonable price? On Amazon there is only one new BD by a third party seller and he is asking £79.90 for it. I doubt hid BD will ever be sold. Other than that all are used. Even on ebay there is no new copy and the two copies available are without English subs!
