Today my order was shipped! Still can't believe I've got these sets at MRP by its publisher.

Yeah, they are only front store but supplier is different. One of the volumes was OOS as per their initial reply but upon my request ,they've managed to source that one.
Arrived today. Package was a different kind, never seen type; A long box but wasn't fully covered as in there were open cuts like bands, luckily there were no damages!

Still can't believe I bought these at their MRPs.

Wish there were a 4th release including Man of Marble (1977), A Short Film About Love (1988) and a couple of others like Jerzy Hoffman films. Again it depends on the films list curated by Mr. Scorsese .

Filmoteka Narodowa will release "Pan Tadeusz" (1928) and re-release "Pan Wołodyjowski"(1969) and "Potop" (1974) tomorrow.

Amazing! How much are they a piece? Do you have to email Propaganda to buy these?

I contacted them over FB messenger; https://www.facebook.com/prpgnd/

There used to be a web storefront for their MS Presents box sets releases but was closed down following global lockdown dring April 2020 (you can read more about it in the preceding pages ) .

Its nice of them offering these box sets at their MRP [€320-€330, depending on the current exchange rate] .

Edit; Sorry , missed to mention this -the price quoted above is for all 3 box sets together but the shipping charges may vary.

I got Janosik from amazon.de recently. Amazon UK would not ship to the US. Nice transfer, surprisingly OAR (1.33:1). My teens have been really enjoying it. I have not seen it in 30+ years. Great audio & soundtrack.

Weirdly, did not see anywhere for sale in Poland. Seems to be out of stock on Amazon now.

What’s everyone’s favorite/reliable place to order Polish movies? Bluedvd has The Ashes, but I haven’t found it on any site I usually order from. So I’m curious how their shipping/packaging is.

I just recently ordered and received The Ashes, along with 4 other Wajda blu-rays, from a seller on eBay. It is around $25 shipped, less if you order more than one blu. There are another 5 or 6 Wajdaís that I have my eye on, and Iíll go that route again.

The seller was pretty good, with a large number of feedback and 99% positives. They split my order of 5 discs between 2 packages (padded envelopes), with 3 discs in one. The second envelope that arrived had a book on medicinal herbs in it, which was obviously meant for someone else. I emailed them and they sent out the 2 remaining discs ASAP. It seemed like an honest mistake since the book was the same in cost, w/ shipping, as the 2 blus, which they told me to just keep.
Now I also have a book on medicinal herbs, although it is in Polish (and not subtitled).

Our local (Opole, Poland) video store is closing and the owner Jarek is liquidating his stock towards the end of October.

Here is his Facebook link if anyone is interested in picking up some movies:

https://m.facebook.com/VideotekaOpole/

Edit: Jarek is giving it another go and is going to remain open for the time being.

I went on their website and all i see is a video rental store advertising itself. Don't see anything for sale.

In case anybody wants a new Polish film to watch, get yourself a copy of Girls of Dubai/Dziewczyny z Dubaju. i'll probably snatch it off of ebay real soon, very hard to find.

Also this is the greatest Polish film ever made, track it down (With Fire and Sword/Ogniem i Mieczem)

It seems like the owner has decided to stay open for the time being. He thought his place was doomed, and told me about his upcoming liquidation, but he seems to have had a change of heart.

Had a chance to watch Ogniem i Mieczem, it's seems like it's just a dvd that's been up-ressed to 1080p and put on BD-R disc, why can't studios actually put some effort into this stuff. Got a few more coming from Poland, so we'll see how they turn out.
