They're slowly getting there with blu releases - they've got Winter's Bone and Certified Copy coming out in January. They're presumably being picky about what's lilkely to sell well on blu. But they simply cannot be beaten when it comes to their prices for world cinema dvds and who knows, maybe that's where their strength lies. Even though you can get Summer Hours on blu, why pay £20 for the Criterion dvd when you can get it for less than a fiver on AE at AMZ UK? Why pay £60 for Agnes Varda dvd boxset on Criterion when you can get it for less than £20 on AMZ UK? |

I have to agree, and maybe say their choice of films are better than Criterion. Well, for my taste they certainly are, but Criterion are much further ahead for the quality of content, I prefer Artificial Eye's catalogue. There Blu-ray catalogue is disappointing though, and I wish they pick up the quantity and choices. BFI are miles ahead of them on the Blu-ray front, but for DVD Artificial Eye is amazing!

You don't have to thank me for anything, kndy.
![]() All the credit goes to you because you started the thread. Hopefully, we could help Artificial Eye's titles get better exposure within the community as these are difficult times for many small independent distributors, and AE are one of UK's best. So, thank you, and we will keep updating the thread together ![]() Pro-B p.s. Maybe in early 2011, when we get the new releases, we could make the thread a sticky. |

![]() With new A-Eye titles, do the prices of roughly £13 stay like that for a while? |

We are even experiencing delays with Criterion's recent wave of discs, because they are simply in transit somewhere. Pro-B |

If Solaris and Stalker come to Blu-ray will they still be released by AE? I'd quite like to see them both in HD. Solaris is selling for a penny short of sixty quid on Amazon but it's 8.99 on HMV. Has anyone ordered the DVD recently? Another site said they aren't shipping due to licensing problems are they going to switch hands?
Edit: HMV out of stock DVD wise. |
