Big fan of Dead Man's Shoes (1080i no extras present release) and Somers Town (real treat!) but didn't like This is England.

Hopefully Meadows will have some input in this and give us something new.

Would have been nice to have seen A Room For Romeo Brass (maybe my favourite Meadows and the film where I first noticed his talent) or Twenty Four Seven coming too.

They'll probably be the same discs that are already out. This Is England is 1080p, and it's very possible both Somers Town and Dead Man's Shoes were shot at 25fps, which means the current 1080i50 presentations are proper.

What's the a/v quality and spec on This is England then? I just assumed it was 1080i.

This is England and Dead Man's Shoes are top class films. Both marketed as your kind of low budget average criminal/thug movies, but both are so much more than that. Both really good and complex themes.

I'm curious to know if this is the case, that the set is just the same as the previous single releases? I already have Somer's Town and Dead Man's Shoes, but I still need to get hold of This is England, and might as well just buy it individually if they are the same?

I picked up This is England a while back, happy with that transfer.

Can anyone comment on the Dead Man's shoes transfer? still good despite being 1080i?

I watched it a few nights ago and I enjoyed it. The transfer is pretty good, and has a lot of pleasing film grain. The only downside is that there aren't any extras, and I remember the DVD version had loads!!

The dvd does have good extras, but the dvd is problematic on a decent sized screen.

No subtitles on the Dead Man's shoes (individual release), but Somer's Town has HOH subtitles.

Most likely 3 seperate cases. It's worth noting that the blu-ray of Dead Man's Shoes doesn't have a very good transfer, it's interlaced and all of the special features on the DVD weren't ported to the blu-ray. It's barebones.

To be honest I would just buy This is England & Somers Town seperately and get the DVD of Dead Man's Shoes if you care about special features.

Can anyone say definitively whether or not Dead Man’s Shoes is correctly transferred on this disc or is it supposed to actually be progressively transferred instead? Have been wanting to upgrade my dvd for a long time, and I’m sure this blu looks better regardless, but have held off even though a US blu-ray is unlikely at this point.

I picked up the set cheap. I have DMS on dvd and the blu is massive improvement in detail. I kept the dvd for the extras.
