There's no sub £10 Blu-ray discs anywhere (USA, France, UK etc) with this sort of packaging, thought, care and attention to detail. These releases are brilliantly priced and they'd probablly be double the money were it not for the corrupted UK Blu-ray market being so competitive (ie dodging UK tax by posting from outwith Her most Royal Majesty's Queen Elizabeth II's inland tax collection services).
My 2 Romeros were £10 and £9 new. They were that price for a few weeks if you looked around. My Martin was an über bargain £5. Like all Blu-ray buying you either pay the full price immediately or shop around and wait. I wait (except for that darn fine Inception makeup case which was 'limited'). The fact this thread has interest from around the world let's us know Arrow have it spot on unlike all the other lazy f***** distributors in the UK. I hope other distributors see what they're losing out on (money, recognition, praise, applause and err... money). If distributors invest in their product so will we. |

A few special features are in PAL, depends on the disc. All of Arrow Video's Blu-rays are all region, though. Except the upcoming Battle Royale Special Edition, that one is B

Cant really see why money is an issue with arrows releases, without taking into account the overall presentation (superb) the fact that these are 'obscure 70's and 80's horror' would make then more likely to be higher priced, they dont sell millions of copies and anybody who knows a bit about manufacturing/business knows the more you make/buy the cheaper they get
At around £12-15 each, its a decent price, even more so when you take into account that most new releases are creeping towards £18 a time perfect example being metropolis, i had no problem paying £18 for my steelbook because i know without eureka charging that price, they would never have had the money to restore and release the film in the first place, the money made by companies like arrow is filtered straight back into the next release and in the long run it us that benefit, the customers |

Hey guys, I have always noticed these and thought they were quite interesting. Not sure if I would watch all of them however they would be nice to collect. Any chance someone could produce a full list of the Blus released like this so far please? Do they all come with the slip/collectors stuff?
Interesting thread and nice read ![]() |

Anyone know why Suspiria wasn't realeased by Arrow? It's a shame, cause the rest of Dario Agento's films are or are getting released. |

The artwork for Les Diaboliques and The Bicycle Thieves is up on the Arrow site, alongside extras. The Academy packaging looks to be replicating the reversible sleeve nature of the Video releases.

Couldnt find a thread on this, forgive if one exists.
Recently released a few Blu Ray, dont know much about Arrow Blu Rays but it has the very smart looking edition of the original Dawn Of The Dead, and the rest of their releases look like its the same style of packaging, Dawn Of The Dead for those of you who haven't seen the packaging. http://hmv.com/hmvweb/displayProduct...;-1&sku=232577 To me it looks like a load of old cheesy horror movies, bay of blood inferno etc etc and im a sucker for them, any fans of these movies on here wish to shed a little light on them ![]() |

yeah Arrow is known for their elaborate packaging, and a lot of fans of these films love their releases because of that.
They have mainly released classic horror so far, (mainly Argento and Fulci) but also have a new series of foreign language grand classics coming soon. At this point their bd releases have been a real mixed bag, but in general have been pretty decent. If you can play region A releases, however, Blue Underground's releases of many of the same films have been superior, and the Arrow "Day of the Dead" is not as good as the US release by a good deal imo due to excessive dnr. Arrow could be a really good label if the overall quality of their releases improved even further. At this point though, imo, the packaging often ends up trumping the actual bds. all the extra covers and stuff is very cool though, and the collectors seem to love their releases. They have released a pretty good blu-ray of "Cinema Paradiso" although it does not include the director's cut which many people prefer. here's some of their releases-- http://www.amazon.co.uk/s?url=search...+films+blu-ray Last edited by Arkadin; 02-13-2011 at 11:40 PM. |

I'm pretty sure you'll always get the option of the original language with English subs for both companies, but as far as dubs, I'm not sure which releases have them and which do not.
I've read a lot about the Arrow bds, but I don't have any of the horror ones so someone else will have to chime in regarding that issue. |
