I believe they were unable to come to an agreement with the company that owned the master Synapse used. They have the license to the film though. I noticed they've double billed it with Slice And Dice for a showing at the Glasgow Film Theater, so perhaps they've overcome this issue, or perhaps the materials they have just aren't up to it, and they don't want to release an inferior product.

I emailed them asking about Tourist Trap and Parasite (in 3-D! Hey, you never know...) a while ago, but didn't get a response. They just released the former last April, so it's strange that it didn't get both BD and DVD releases.

their facebook is prob the best way to contact them. the seem to answer questions there more often.

Due to some bizarre deals done back in the day we only actually have access to VHS rights for parasite i'm afraid...... We'd love to do Tourist Trap but no HD master exists at the moment. Obviously once we can source one it will be a no-brainer.

I figured that was the case on Tourist Trap, as they likely would have released it on BD along with the DVD. I eagerly await their VHS of Parasite! Thanks for asking them.

So another 6 months wait so they can get a probable ten minute interview that I'm only ever going to watch once. Not a great business model for a small distributor.

seriously!! they are great, nothing wrong with their release model. its this one film. get over it

they got other stuff coming out be content with that, id rather get the best possible version of Castle freak then, rushed out.

Really? Man you would think they had like the greatest movie ever here. just release the damn thing. You delaying this thing for a year is so stupid. I no longer care about whatever minor useless special feature you have lined up. If you can't put together a release after a 6 month delay then maybe you should rethink what business you are in.

2 or 3 week delays aren't uncommon, annoying, yes, but sometimes things get screwed up and need to be rectified. Longer waits I have a big problem with. Sure, we have plenty of movies to enjoy in the meantime but those of us who were eagerly anticipating CASTLE FREAK on Blu after suffering with a mediocre fullscreen DVD for years can't be faulted for being upset. I just got the email from Amazon UK telling me about the delay and new estimated delivery date: October! That's a LONG time from now.
