That sounds like a plan. I'll give it a go, thanks. I remember reading about it at the time but I'm so disorganised... I still have faulty pressings of films I never got round to exchanging!

Does anyone happen to have a slip for Lavender Hill Mob they'd be willing to part with?
Happy to negotiate terms, of course. It's the only one of my Ealing Blus that's missing a slip, which makes it look unbalanced on the shelf. Thanks for any help! ![]() |

Just to make sure, this upcoming Studio Canal Ealing blu-ray boxset containing KIND HEARTS, THE LAVENDER HILL MOB, THE MAN IN THE WHITE SUIT, is simply a collection of the already released Optimum Vintage discs, correct?

Saw Dead of Night 2 days ago on the blu-ray. Compared to the rather dog-like DVD release I had seen some years ago, the blu-ray transfer is exceedingly good. There may be still some limitations of softness and detail, but this is way beyond previous releases. For anyone that's wondering, they also include the golfing story which for some reason was cut out of some previous home video releases, so this is the full version of the film. A little more pizzazz in the packaging would have been nicer (booklet?), and the only major extra is a docu on the film and it's legacy, but it's pretty darn good, and makes for a sweet bookend to the main feature.

Nearly gave "Belles of St Trinians" a miss, but succumbed yesterday and very glad I did. Had forgotten what a great film it was. Great performances from Alistair Sim and Joyce Grenfell. Superb restoration and really nice that they put some effort into providing a few extra's. Highly recommended!
