Seems like lots of overseas Paramount catalog BDs are like that. Their BDs of Sabrina and Funny Face, which have been released everywhere but the US, are apparently also from the old HD masters meant for the DVDs.

Overlooked this release. Went with the Japanese release (not that it matters). Video quality is acceptable to my eyes. The audio on the other hand was pretty bad. Louder dialogue is completely plagued with artifacting. Everytime a character raises his or her voice one can hear distortion or what sounds like popping. Still, I'm glad I got it.

I received the UK version last week and watched it up to the intermission last night. There was a lot of grain on the first sequence due to the opticals for the titles, but after that, it looked very good. Nice color. No distortion on the dialogue. The sound was quite clear. I don't know why anyone would wait for something better than this. How much better can it get?
