I was happy to find this post only to realize the information is in bits and pieces .. no offense to anyone. Help yourself and all cinephiles..

Two notables releases are

[Show spoiler]

Each box set is comprised of 5 films and these releases were made possible by Slovak Film Institute /SFU(Slovenský filmový ústav)

Can not find much information on how many of these are produced but both are priced at approx € 50 each ; Haven't tried any of the below ones except http://nfa.cz on international shipping .

http://www.klapka.sk/klapka/produkty/blu-ray/

https://www.blu-shop.cz/vyhledavani/?string=SLOVENS

http://www.niagara.sk/vysledky-vyhla.../vyraz-Slovens

http://nfa.cz/en/e-shop/films/?a=17859

Hope SFU will bring more releases like this.

P.S- Mods can the release information to SLOVENSKÝ FILM 2 be made available here like that of SLOVENSKÝ FILM 1

EDIT; Thanks for creating the listing of SLOVENSKÝ FILM 2.

Will write more about the box sets (details about PQ/Special feats) when I have them.

I'm so psyched about Best of Viktor Kubal! If you people are interested in getting the box set, I recommend you send an email to the official shop (klapka@klapka.sk) where you can get all the data for a direct bank transfer. I'm waiting for their reply at the moment, I'll keep you posted.

Alternatively, you can buy it on filmexport.cz - but it's around $30 + $20 shipping...

Hey! So I just received the Kubal set from SFÚ Here's how it goes. When you contact them (klapka@klapka.sk), they will give you the total for your order - I think it's a standard $20 for international shipping, so you should definitely pick Slovak Film 2 box if you're interested. You will be asked to make a direct bank transfer... Then, a bit of patience. It took 5 days for the payment to be received and for them to pack and send the item, plus 8 days for the parcel to be delivered. So you should get your order a couple of weeks after payment is sent.
About VK: Great packaging, zero damage. Gorgeous design, Blu-ray discs are factory-pressed. The only bonus content seems to be the bilingual booklet, which contains lots of info about Viktor Kubal. I'll definitely watch these films as soon as possible

Hey everyone. I just placed an order with SFI/SFU and wanted to let everyone know that the process has changed, mostly for the better. Here's what you should have to do. Note that, unless you can read Slovakian, you're best off using Chrome to auto-translate everything.

- Create an account. (I'll come back to this in a minute.) You should get a confirmation email. Note that, in my case at least, the emails from klapka.sk tend to go into the spam folder. So, be sure to look there.
- Put your items in the cart.
- Go through the checkout process. As mentioned elsewhere, shipping appears to be a flat 18 €, no matter how little or how much stuff you buy.
- When it's time for payment, there will be a credit card option. I forget what it'll say in Slovakian but the point will get across in Chrome's auto-translation. In any event, you won't pay just yet.
- See the confirmation page. You'll get a second email confirming this (assuming the first is for account registration).
- About a day later, you'll get a third email, with a link that mentions CardPay. ("Kedže ste si vybrali platbu vopred cez CardPay, môžete vykonať platbu cez tento odkaz.") Follow the "tento odkaz" link. This is where you'll put in your credit card info.
- After successfully entering your credit card info, you should see another confirmation page, and get a fourth email.
- Another day or two later, you'll get a fifth email. This will confirm that the package has shipped. You can also see on the web site that the order has shipped.
- Play the waiting game. It took ~10 days for me to receive my package in the US. I had to sign for it. I don't think it's registered, just some sort of international priority shipping type.
- Open the package and enjoy! In my case at least, they packed in quite a bit of dual-language (Slovenian and English) printed materials.

While things have improved, there are a couple of annoying issues.

- You never receive a tracking number. You just have to cross your fingers and wait, or maybe try emailing them and hoping for a positive response.
- While the actual items were wrapped with plenty of bubble wrap, the box itself seemed flimsy. One corner had somehow been cut open, and the rest of the box just seemed a bit too thin.
- Here's the major issue. In my case, my billing and shipping addresses are different. Even with auto-translate, the site seemed to want to do weird things to my addresses. I finally got it, or thought I did. When the package arrived, it used a mishmash of both addresses! It had my shipping address first (430 Blu-Ray St), then a mangled version of my billing address (SW DVD Ave 1522) listed as the company (!), then my zip code (billing) and city (billing, I suppose, although they both match in this case). No state, although I knew that going in, and one can include it in the "city" field. In any event, I don't know what happened here. Be very careful, and consider not using separate addresses if possible.

Good luck! I'll order again in the future. I'll just be more careful.

Thanks for the alert, djvaso. Delighted to see Dusan Hunak getting released on Blu-ray - I’m certainly in for Ružové Sny - but do we know if this standalone edition of I Love, You Love is any different from the one included in the Slovak Film Vol.1 box set? Hope we get a BR release of 322 at some point.

Preorder is now up on Second Run’s website. It also gives me a good excuse to add on some (more)
of their DVD releases that I’ve had my eye on.

Slovak Film Institute:
Quote:
We are preparing... blu-ray 🔸DUSAN TRANCHIK - SHORT FILMS🔸 Despite the fact that the largest layer of Slovak cinematography is made of short films, they are often forgotten. We therefore bring you a selection from the short film production of director Dušan Trančík, who will introduce five documentaries and two digitally restored films from 1968 to 1974. They combine an unconventional approach to front-camera reality and imaginative stylization. Such is the movie Amulet (1974). He talks about the difficult role of an actor who is supposed to show the death of a rebel soldier. 🔜Blu-ray Dušan Trančík - short films can be found in Klapka.sk and other friendly stores starting mid-December.
