Question! Can I setup a new account and link it to my main account so that account gets the benefit of that account then link the new account to the group account? And access all the movies from the group account through that account?

Also, so when you want to watch a movie, you have to scroll through 6 accounts potentially? They don't compile the accounts into one "family" account?

I think as far as purchases go... If someone runs out of credits, and wants to make a purchase with their own credit card/paypal/etc, then that person can leave the group temporarily, make their purchases, and then request to be added back. I go through credits quickly, so I frequently end up using my CC to pay for purchases, so I hope that won't be an issue.

You don't need iCloud Drive, just an iCloud account which is easily created.

If you leave and come back, you use up your annual change allowance.
Best to simply gift yourself iTunes credit via a 2nd account, which you can attach CC to.

Regarding multiple groups....
So let's say I'm in a group that has a,b,c and missing x,y,z...
So if I join a different group that has x,y,z... Does everyone reap the benefits?

You cannot be in 2 groups at once.
So best to browse the lists, and Group A has abc, and def, and you have ghi, IDEAL.

Typically Group A will have abc, and bcd, and you have aeg.
So best scenario is 6 of us with a wide variety, and we fill in each others gaps.
It takes planning and co-ordination which I believe most of us do.

If you're someone who purchases things twice without realising it, then maybe not.

Lots of iTunes bundles today, of which I have several already.
I only have $20 and would buy 2 more.
Bit silly if you end up buying the exact same thing and then join group.
Better if we post list, see the gaps, join, and say I'm going to add this, and let others add other items, so no more overlap.
Shared family calendar makes it easy.

Yes. No Cloud compilations.

Furthermore with individual lists, you know at any time who owns what.

Just download at one time, and then you can have all in one place on your Videos app, or Movie folder on iTunes 12 when it releases very shortly.

You can't double link.
Just a group of 6 IDs, that's it.

Looks like you don't have HD enabled for iTunes download.
I would recommend forming or joining a 2nd Team based on your list, which is normal as teams are maximum 6 anyway.

Wierd, I do have HD on the most of all titles. Let me see if I can get it to work.

Update: It seems as the exported list only states the filesize for the 720p versions of the films. I´ll try if I can it to work properly at home.

Just go to Purchased in Quick Links on iTunes, and down the bottom is a check box for Download HD where possible.
And in Preferences: Store, select 1080p.

OK, the link is now updated with the correct spreadsheet. All TV seasons are in HD as well.

Generally arrangements for credits can be made as well if you have funds in PayPal, I can get 10% off iTunes credits pretty much anytime, just need enough warning to be able to swing by Walmart.

One challenge I see is trying to keep track of who has what in their collections - a centralized spreadsheet editable by all members of the 'family' would be ideal - but unfortunately I seem to be having some issues with Numbers in iCloud.

Our first US club is in full swing.
A few movie overlaps purchased/redeemed in days just prior, but all good since.
Everyone's want and wish lists significantly reduced, and focusing on new releases and mutual gaps now.

Discovered that if organiser address in sales tax paid state, everyone else pays taxes, so we modified that to tax free state.

Yosemite and iTunes 12 now released, so easy downloads to desktop happening.
For Mac users, that means Mac App Store purchases are also shared.

So we have 1 spot remaining, and would be cool for someone with a large music library, TV shows, as we have more than enough movies so far.
And perhaps someone who has easy access to iTunes discounted cards.

if iTunes Match gets shared I have ~8k songs in addition to my ~2k tv episodes (which includes every single episode of shows like Saved by the Bell, Psych and Parks & Rec)

edit: okay trying to copy and paste to icloud is just not working right for some reason, everything ends up in the same row and it's an illegible mess

edit 2: sorta got it though it for some reason didn't just use the view options I had enabled but oh well

it did include a HD column with a marking of 1 for if something is HD or 0 if it's not

edit 3: I also have season passes for several currently airing shows like Castle, The Big Bang Theory, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Marvel's Agents of SHIELD, Gotham, etc.

...a definite point to consider when organizing a potential group. If any of the potential members live in a tax-free area it would certainly make sense if possible for them to be the Organiser.

If you link a US account with a Family Sharing Account, does it prevent you from downloading past purchases on your default account? (in my case, an Irish one)
