It seems as though the Stranger Things 80's style packaging has started a new fad. Australia is offering classic 80's films on bluray, released in vintage 80's VHS packaging. YES....these are BLURAYS!!!!!

They look pretty neat, but I found this review on YouTube that sorta shifted my opinion.

His complaints are pretty dumb. He doesn't even know what he wants. He complains that they maybe aren't as super authentic with the feel of the packaging as he'd like, then complains that they should have put a BD case inside the VHS. Which is it? What point would it be to put another case inside there? The packaging looks fine, and perfectly fits the VHS motif. He seems very nitpicky,even whining there aren't enough cards in there, Jesus.

Well, it's not as clean looking at the STRANGER'S THING packaging, which I feel is much better, but whatever. I'm not that impressed anymore either.

I was initially a bit disappointed after seeing the unboxing, but I think I'll be quite happy with my BTTF when I get it. A limited edition for that price is a good deal in my book, and I don't think it looks bad at all (even if it's not as nice as Stranger Things, I'll admit).

These cases at least have proper disc hubs unlike the Stranger Things release.

Finally got around to picking this up at Target today. Only picked up 4 of the 8 avaialbe: Jaws, ET, Backdraft and Fletch. Only $12.99 each.

I might do Stand By Me, just because I'm a King fan.

Iron-on decals are totally 70's early 80's. I see the reason why they are included even though the guy in the video doesn't feel like they're nostalgic. But, I agree nothing crazy here.

I saw these today at my Target and they were 10$ each which is not bad at all

I recently bought the Karate Kid Trilogy blu-ray collection in VHS case for $19.99 from Amazon. The standard version of Part 3 by itself was going for $22.99. The VHS case is a kind of boring though.

I also have the Legend of Billie Jean with 80s VHS style slipcover. I would prefer the ones with the VHS slipcovers rather than the ones with the VHS cases(expect for the Stranger Things ones I like those).

Agree. I don't need thick cases taking up valuable shelf space. But I really like retro VHS slipcovers.
