I am going to picking up Shout! Factory’s release of Jetman, as I want to support them.

I just happened to find these fan made discs/ISOs online and it would make for a good comparison.

Some of the fan subs I have watched have been very creative with their fonts and use of logos/symbols. Shout!'s tend to be rather simple but I guess that stops them from being too intrusive to viewers who may not have watched a lot of subbed material.

Out of curiosity do you have a top five Sentai?

Posting a gif of Mechagodzilla simply because it's so cool.

First photo from the upcoming 25th Anniversary episode and some familiar faces return!

This has been covered on about a million different websites so I hardly consider it a spoiler.

Great to see these three back in action and I am sure there will be more reveals soon.

The only downer is seeing unimaginative fans bleating on about "but Cat shouldn't have those powers anymore because they were handed over and then destroyed" and "how can Tommy be using the Green Power Coin" and other nit picks.

You want the answer to these questions? It's because they don't care about continuity and want some cool visuals and there is nothing wrong with that! Stop nitpicking and just enjoy what is to come.

In a random order:

Jetman
Megaranger
Carranger
Bioman
Changeman

I would pick Akibaranger as well, but as it's "unofficial", and people get mad when you put it on a list, I guess I won't.

If you love it then that's reason enough to put it on your list; others be d*mned!

Mine would be

Zyuranger (obvious I know but I adore it)
Gokaiger
Jetman
Ohranger (I know it's generally unpopular but I love it)
Toqger

I'm currently watching Kyuranger (seven episodes left) and am enjoying it.

I was into Power Rangers as a kid, and my uncles got me into Godzilla. Thatís where my toku journey started.

For Power Rangers? The Judd Lynn era: In Space, Lost Galaxy, Lightspeed Rescue, Time Force. Lynn brought more gravitas than youíd expect, better villains, and some toku directors to give the American footage more flavor. For Godzilla? Thatís tough. I was an obsessive toku fan as a kid, but I sort of grew past it. Iíd say the whole Showa era has its ups and downs; Ishiro Honda could generally be relied upon though the 70s were lean except for the steps up in the Mechagodzilla duo. I like most of the Heisi era, after Destroyah is around when I got out of the game. Iíve always planned on getting back into the game, but havenít gotten around to it. I do have some stray Ultraman episodes I watch from the old Mill Creek discs from time to time though .

I would highly recommend Godzilla against Mechagodzilla and Tokyo S.O.S. from the Millennium era as they have some of the strongest human characters and plots. Even though the latter acts as a direct sequel you have to buy them in separate double bill releases (which wasn't a chore for me as I loved the other movies that came with them too).

I really respect Discotek; along with their anime output they are doing a great job of bringing vintage Japanese shows to the west.

Watched the trailers the latter two and have seen a bit of Juspion before so these are all must buys for me too!

28th August at 8pm on Nick.

That's the US air date/time, no idea about the rest of the world. In the UK it's not easy watching new Power Rangers episodes since it switched to POP which is one of the worst channels around.

Still don't think they'll ever top "Forever Red" though.
