Do Amazon ever improve the HD versions of movies on Instant Video? If so would the HD version I purchased improve also?

I bought the HD version of American Gigolo on Amazon Instant Video a while back and quite frankly the picture quality is abysmal. Is there any chance of it ever improving, say if a new restoration of the film were to be released?

Only way they would fix it is if several people complained about major issues like studdering and audio drop outs, or if Paramount saw fit to remaster it in 4k for streaming platforms, chances of which would be small considering American Gigolo isn't very well known or a mega hit like Grease, Pet Semitary, or War of the Worlds 1953.

(Neither. Leon Extended cut is HD only and Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer is believed to be SDR. Vudu version of Henry however is reported to be at HDR10 but cropped to 1.78:1)

One of the Extended versions provided by Prime uses the same cover as the remastered versions.

(Didn't see that listing, so I imagine they must've added it pretty recently. Looks like it's only available to own, and I imagine it's the same 4k HDR extended cut master as the 2015 BD and the UHDs. One of the Extended versions provided by Prime uses the same cover as the remastered versions.

(Cover arts don't always indicate if it's a different transfer or not. That version of T2 was the same 2006 MPEG-2 based transfer when it was on Prime and I had a free trial of it. Sometimes if the same title has a new listing created for a different version/remaster, sometimes have a different master)

not every service gets the same digital version so it can vary from site to site. If you mean watching a title you own on Amazon vs watching it through Prime, there is no difference.

When you choose to have the slower "no rush" shipping route and there's a $1 credit, will it apply towards digital purchases? And will they stack? In other words, if I placed three orders and had $3 worth of credits, I could get a $4.99 movie for $1.99?

Yes credits stack and can be used as a whole for digital purchases. Each credit has its own individual expiration. Each credit is issues at ship time of the order, which also determines the expiration date.

I've only ever used these credits for movie purchases. I suspect that they work the same for everything else, but don't have any experience.

I can also confirm that they stack, and they also work for Amazon movie rentals. I had $3 of no rush credits and rented a movie for $2.99. I got my movie rental, and my account then indicated I still had $0.01 of no rush credits remaining (which I can't really do much with lol).
