My copy of Season 9 just got delivered. Amazon kept their promise for delivery on release date :-) . Came with a slip too! I got one for S7 aswell but my S8 never came with one, looks a little weird on the shelf next to the UK releases but i can live with it. If anyone happens to have a S8 Slipcover for sale or know where i can get one it would be much appreciated if you kept me in the loop.

Artwork for Front & Back for those interested:

Artwork on the discs is the same as the front cover as per Universal's usual style

Great. But, I don't understand the recent trend of back covers saying (Dolby audio). There is no Dolby or Dolby Atmos on the discs. I saw it even on the Tales from the crypt. There is only Dolby Surround 2.0 on that.

Technically, the non-program content (e.g. logos, menus) probably has Dolby Digital audio. I imagine Universal simply leave it on the cover template and use it all the time, with that as the justification. It may not even matter, since they've clearly paid for the license and have plenty of releases that definitely use Dolby tracks for program audio.

Still waiting for my copy of the German Blu-ray release to ship.

There likely won't be any explanation, but I'm still wondering why the UK DVD-only release of Chicago Med: Season Six was pushed back to mid-November, when the most recent completed seasons of Fire and P.D. were released in August and September respectively (I had read elsewhere that Chicago P.D.: Season Eight was delayed in the States as well (DVD-only release).

My copy of Season Nine shipped last Saturday (from Amazon.de).

Without using spoilers, unless things change later this season (thinking of January or February next year), it's looking like no crossover event for the Chicago shows in the current season (and if that's what happens, then that's two seasons in a row).

Yeah, no crossovers this year either due to Covid. There are still little cross-overs though. Characters popping over, just not a great event. Received season 9 aswell with a slip; glad my S8 had a slip aswell.

As the current seasons started as normal in September, hopefully they'll start in the UK in January, rather than what happened with Chicago Fire: Season Nine (it started on Sky Witness in February this year (because of you-know-what, it didn't start in the States until November last year, hence the later start here).

I still like to keep an eye on the current season (episode titles, synopses and main and guest cast credits), and have noticed there have been at least a couple of episodes of
[Show spoiler]Chicago Fire so far with crossover appearances by a character/characters from Chicago Med
(it seems that crossover events aside, any crossover appearances by Fire and Med characters on Chicago P.D. have stopped completely since it's fifth season onwards).

Yeah, same with Med; not many guest stars from Fire or PD. Most seem to be on Fire. Kind of miss it.

My copy of the German Blu-ray set of Chicago Fire: Season Nine arrived before this past weekend.

The bad news first, the case was cracked (but I should be able to get a replacement case).

The good news, the discs appear to be fine (not damaged), as well as the card sleeve and slipcover.

Interesting that there was a slipcover for the release, my copy from jpc.de just arrived. They were delayed getting stock by a week and my copy arrived sealed but without a slipcover. A shame, since my German copies of seasons 7 and 8 do have the slipcovers and they were actually inside of the plastic wrap when received.

Usually I can remember this sort of thing, but I genuinely can't remember if my copy of the Chicago Fire: Season Nine Blu-ray set arrived with the plastic wrap over the slipcover, or just over the Blu-ray case. Have had to get some replacement DVD cases recently for season sets of some older series, so I should be able to get a replacement Blu-ray case (referring to my previous post).

Glad to finally get the most recently completed seasons complete soon (should get my copy of Chicago Med: Season Six (DVD-only) next week, even though (and it's a small nitpick) it's come out two months after P.D.: Season Eight.

My copies of Season 7 & 9 had the shrink wrap over the slipcover. (Check my post above #41.)Season 8 however didn't come with a slip so the wrap was just over the case.

PS: i'm still searching for the Season 8 slipcover lol

Have been checking Amazon.de a few times recently for any early signs of a possible German Blu-ray release of Chicago Fire: Season Ten. Last checked a day or two ago and nothing yet (might be a bit early though). The DVD-only release in the UK is around the same time as Season 9 was released in the UK last year (Monday 22nd August, 2022).

The German Blu-rays discs have been released in October every year since Season 3.

I'm keeping an eye on it aswell, but not too worried yet. Like you said; the dvd only release (for season 10) was announced around the same date as last year. Last year the blu-ray of season (Germany) 9 turned up later in the summer I believe and was released a month after the dvd-only release aswell. I expect a pre-order announcement at the end of August or something.

I'm glad I'm not the only one checking for a season 10 Blu-ray release date. Every single day it's the first thing I check when I wake up. I just don't like that feeling I get that Germany could start doing DVD releases only like the UK did after season 6. This show needs to be watched in 1080p. Fingers crossed the announcement is this month.

Don't worry, Germany isn't finished airing the tenth season until 12 September:

I wouldn't expect to see news of a release until around that time and possibly afterwards.

I didn't even think to check out the airing side of things. Cheers for letting me know, I appreciate that bit of information. 😊
