This thread is designed to inform readers which iTunes store may have the best version of a movie available to purchase, either in the UK or US storefront. The deciding factors will be overall availability, video/audio quality and availability of unrated/extended editions.
As you may know, the reasons as to why there are differences between the UK and US versions of a movie are typically because of a difference in local distributor, a difference in local cuts and/or because the worldwide distributor simply wants a different version available locally.
This thread does not take into account personal preference to which cut of a movie is technically better, only where an extended/unrated cut is available over the theatrical version. If you prefer the theatrical cut of a movie, this by no means invalidates that opinion, simply shows preference of the alternate cut.
While the scope at this time is narrow based on the UK and US stores, it may become clear we should include other markets in future.
I will update this original post as regularly as I can, based on my own findings as well as all of your feedback in future posts. I hope this resource is useful and helps you in your movie sourcing needs. If there are any future corrections to the below, please let me know and I will update accordingly.

I’m wondering if there might be an easier way to distinguish the “better in the US” vs the “better in the UK” listings. Maybe by color coding or simple separation?
Apocalypse Now - US has theatrical cut and final cut with Dolby Vision, also Redux in HD. UK has only final cut in Dolby Vision, no other version but does include Hearts of Darkness as extra.
