Wow, that's a terrific deal. I paid £112 on Amazon this time last year but that's the ebb and flow of commerce for you. Wish I could say having it a full year before buying now was properly taken advantage of, I've only watched two of the discs. However, it was a fair price for me then and a beautiful set to own.

I paid over $130 for Volume 1 because I wanted it right away. When Vol. 2 was released I waited since the first one had gone down in price quite a bit. I was able to pick it up for $100 and it has more films.

I understand items are getting cheaper but with this kind of reductions I'm not going to order right away in the future. This is more than half price.

I said I would never buy this because of the oversized disc-scraping packaging (which I HATE) but at that price I couldn't say no.

For those unsure about the oversized packaging who haven't already bought this set...
I was in the same boat initially, but after I bought the set it looks and feels like a work of art. It's my favourite boxset just ahead of Zatoichi (which is also slightly oversized).
The fact that vol. 2 is the same size and there's rumoured vol. 3 and 4 on the way means they can all sit side by side on a shelf of their own
