• If the Panorama Blu-ray uses the same master we were originally provided, it’s frame cut and PAL-pitch; 88’s release won’t be affected by either of these issues.
• The film has been regraded exclusively (reinstating the blue colour scheme, for example).
• As well as for the benefit of those who are hearing-impaired, the additional SDH set for the Cantonese soundtrack was produced in case there is difficulty comprehending some dialogue (being a sync-sound production), but also to denote the various other languages spoken (English, Mandarin, German, and Japanese).

Should 88 have aimed to include Black Cat II? Furthermore, is it even on equal terms? The trailer itself doesn't look that good

I would argue that it shouldn't have and 88 Films made the right decision to omit it - otherwise you could argue that Black Cat in Jail (2000) and Black Cat Agent Files (2003) should have been included and box set made of them. But it would be at the detriment to the original IMHO.

Most of the Italian titles (and some of the HK ones, including this) are blind buys for me so the £25 they're charging for a lot of their new releases was already a bit beyond what I was willing to pay, to be honest. Using the reward points to take a couple of quid off and getting it a bit early by ordering direct made it tolerable to me.

I know it sounds a bit daft when I can still pay a flat £25 at amazon but the delivery being back when ordering direct has basically made me decide not to bother getting the deluxe Black Cat direct and to wait until they do a £15 standard version that I'll order from Amazon.

Might be easier for UK residents but being allllllllllll the way in Oregon, USA? I don't trust Amazon's packaging from the UK to survive getting here.

Eureka and 88 orders come over in perfect packaging. So that's great. Love that it's freak shipping even for the US. I wish 88 did that too. This time I decided to do the order via Diabolik. I've had no issue w/ them in the previous 2 or 3 times w/ them. I just hate waiting for the whole order to be held back until the final release date of an item in it. Saying that... I'm so backed up on the Hong Kong stuff that I'm okay w/ waiting now.

And Arrow? I don't trust their packaging unless it's a massive order. Single units are a massive risk to get shipped over. So much damage sometimes.

I received my copy in the post this morning. Came in a lovely corrugated cardboard A4 biodegradable, recyclable sized mailer. No risk of the hard slipcase moving anywhere in that!

Just ordered a copy. Not a 5 star movie (I give it 4 out of 5), but the set is beautiful, the first 30 minutes is a BEAST and Jade Leung has always been sexy to me. The music score for this movie is great as well.

The only thing I do not like about this release is the slipcover. Is misleading. She never uses her sexuality for her hits. The only time you see her like that is with someone she cares about. Even the trailer is misleading using that scene with her partner and cutting into the hot spring hit, lol. Anything for sales I guess.

Well, Jade Leung has sex appeal. Still does. Almost every other movie she did, she was shown in semi-sexually provocative manner. Almost. There's also a scene in BLACK CAT where she's totally naked during a prison interrogation scene. I actually like the slipcover. I'd prefer to watch this over something as godawful as ROBOTRIX, which was so terrible!

Her sexual appeal has nothing to do with what I’m saying. Her scene being abused by the police doesn’t excuse the misleading slipcover art that makes it look like a CATIII film similar to Naked Killer. I know why they did it and like I mentioned before they did it with the trailer back in the day as well. At least you get the original art in the Blu-ray case. Not saying the slipcover art is bad(I like it)it looks great just misleading that is all.

I see what you mean, of course. However, she IS nude in there on 2 occasions.
