Melon farmers also listed that this was in 1995 for a video release.

A bit like The Mighty Peking Man in vol.1, The Boxer's Omen looks like the "out there" title in this set.

Deliberately so I expect, to entice horror fans to buy an otherwise martial arts set.

But great news nonetheless.
Latest games are 2 in the afternoon here in the USA. Plenty of time later for Shaw viewing

Yeah, Arrow had Amazon take it down so as not to spoil their official announcement on the 12th.

That'll explain it.

Spoiled, just a tad early.

I'm looking forward to hearing your insight since it was such mess to say the least. It's surprising that they were able to release something at all.

Annoyed by all the sour response to this release.. I will definitely be buying this. Can't care at all about the 'wrong' packaging or that these aren't the films some people are waiting for.

You are not going to make everyone happy! I'm ecstatic for this release and late November can't come soon enough.

No, the MIHK VHS was cut by 28 secs (IIRC) to remove cruelty to a monkey.

If the BBFC doesn't mention it now it's because their website is a webshite.

They seemed good at salvaging footage, stopping and restarting productions, but some still slipped through the cracks, such as a directorial effort by David Chiang that I discuss as well. I'm hoping people enjoy the track, it was my first Shaw Bros commentary, as usually I'm in the Golden Harvest wheelhouse, lol.

I'm a huge fan of the Shaw Brothers studio so I'm glad that we are finally getting some proper HD releases and to know (at least from the internet) that helped contribute to the release.

Keep up with the good work and I'll definitely listen to your commentary when I get the set.

Same folks who moaned about volume 1 packaging, and probably the same who’ll be moaning again about volume 3 packaging etc.
All the while, they’re still waiting for a regular release of the first set we enjoyed ages ago.

Haven't seen any of these and a few I really want to see like 36th chamber, so will definitely be buying this. All of vol. 1 was a blind buy and I really loved that set.
Initially hated the look of the packaging from the press releases, but in reality it's a thing of beauty IMO. It looks and feels like a lot of love went into making it, especially the book too.
For those concerned about scratching the discs on the card, mine were ok (and my set was from CEX!). Blu-ray discs shouldn't scratch that easily.

That's right. If Volume 3 has the same oversized packaging that requires the discs to be scraped across it whenever they are removed or replaced, then I'll complain again. But I have most of the films already on one format or another and hundreds of unwatched discs, so it's not that I'm waiting for a regular edition, I'd just be happy to buy one. I can't afford to buy everything I want so lame packaging like this just makes the decision for me as to what I am going to upgrade and what I am not.

I have a few of these kinds of awful book-style sets and quite a few scratched discs as a result.
