Interesting to see WB has gained the rights, Icon only released a Blu-ray last year.

I always thought it was a WB release at cinemas with New Line.

Will it be the proper UK version of the first film though?

Warner/New Line only have US rights to the first two, while Goldmember is with them worldwide. Interesting to see if these will be the US discs or perhaps they made a deal with Icon to include their disc for 1 and a different disc for 2.

Since this is being marketed as an HMV Exclusive, I have to think WB will do whatever is cheapest for them. My guess is they will use their discs for 2 and 3 and the Icon disc for the first one. Notice that in the packshot, only the first one has a BBFC certificate on it, and it also has what looks like an Icon logo, while the other two discs have WB logos. This is probably a sign that the studio already knew what discs were being used. It would also save money because if they used their US version of the first film, it would have to undergo BBFC classification and could potentially result in returns from angry customers.

Much better artwork than the US release but without 4K I’m unlikely to double dip.

What's the quality like on the first movie now? I had the zavvi steelbook of the first film and the PQ was shockingly poor and there was constant frame skips / pausing going on (sorry not sure what the technical term is for it).

The US has a better master of the shorter cut if I recall. If this is the original Icon disc, it might be something to give a wide berth to.

Yea i'd also like to know whether the first movie has decent picture quality this time because every UK release of it so far has been poor.

Looks great and hopefully better than that UK release of the first which was awful. But like others have said, will wait for the 4K

Looks cool but I just got hold of Goldmember on Blu-ray finally and that's the one I like the most. May only get this in a sale or something.

Given the Icon logo this will be the same disc for Part 1.

Damn I just got the german blu of the first one, it has more and the best extras. Does the UK releases of the first movie have issues with the "we're called flight attendants" deleted scene? On the german blu it keeps switching in PQ, from good to reeaally poor.

Will probably wait for 4K release as I have them all individually. The set looks shagadelic though!
But the first movie need a new remaster, the US version looks way better.

Nice artwork, but without new transfers, it's just a fancy box.

Id happily buy the set if it had new transfers since I dont own the films on Blu-ray, but I know theyll just be the old masters on newly pressed discs

Shame if the PQ issues on the first film are still present, I bought the DVD of the first move as the Blu was so horrific (the poor PQ was bad enough but the film stuttering was unbearable).

I want these films in 4k... and I'm not upgrading until they are. The eye popping colors of this series would be incredible!!
