Great idea for a thread , I've only got about 9 of those Aussie movies (same No of NZ movies) , which causes me to think I can contribute a lot more to my/our local Film Industry .

We of the Never Never, Head On, Ten Canoes, Suburban Mayhem, Cane Toads: The Conquest, the horrid Turkey Shoot 're-make' and the American release of The Odd Angry Shot should be included.

Not sure if Breaker Morant is on Blu Ray?

A couple of others Balibo, Backtrack, Ruben Guthrie, That Sugar Film, The Hunter, The Boys, Jasper Jones (it's coming very soon), The Turning, Tanna, The Man from Hong Kong, The Devil's Playground, The Lighthorsemen.

Nice. Will update ASAP after work. Some films I haven't added as they were also filmed in different countries.

Yeah, came out ages ago. It's pretty cheap too, there's a few copies in The Warehouse here for $7.

Criterion has a far superior transfer (from 4K scan) and Aussie has 5.1 remix audio instead of original mono, but apparently it sounds like crap.

^Picked that up a while ago, still on the watchlist heh. I did have a bit of a look around the extras, those Tom Savini gore FX demos look pretty wicked.

As long as the criteria was met for one, is what I thought too.

Lord Crumb - nice list, but you left out a few. What about:
Battletruck
The Dead Room
District 9
The Lovely Bones
Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence
Race for the Yankee Zephyr
Slow West
Tracker
Turbo Kid
The Warrior's Way
The World's Fastest Indian

Yes, I know these are co-productions, but so are some of the ones you have listed.

Really just trying to keep it as local as possible mate. Some of those films were directed by foreigners and too much filmed overseas.
