Smile JVC's 2019 NX5, NX7 & NX9 projectors

Just got a letter from JVC HQ, Japan saying the new NX5, NX7 and NX9 are now in mass production!

Nice! JVC makes amazing projectors. Better than Sony simply due to the better black levels and contrast.

Save the date, Saturday, March 23, 2019 Value Electronics is partnering with JVC and Panasonic to demonstrate the next generation of moving images advancements in home cinema projection.

We'll be showcasing JVC's NX7 and NX9 paired with Panasonic UB9000 BD player with the latest exclusive updates from each company, that will deliver image quality never seen before, that is outside of what colorists and graders in Hollywood Studio Mastering Suites see when they work with the original master files.

As we get closer to the event date I'll be able to announce more information on this unique partnership.

Love my HD 950 but it will be time to upgrade it soon. Can't wait to hear your impressions...especially on the NX7.

A little bit of a mixed bag but overall a nice start for JVC into the affordable 4k projector world. Thanks for the link

Picked up an NX5 today... demo’d it against the Sony 295 and it was superior enough to these eyes to pay a little more for it. The JVC X30 has officially been retired! The NX5 is an absolute beast though, had to modify my shelf by 2 1/4 inches to accommodate it.

How does the NX5 handle deep blacks and HDR? I found a good deal on one and I’m seriously thinking about pulling the trigger. Coming from the Sony 45es btw and have an all black HT.

I sit about 12' from a 10' screen in an entirely light controlled room and I'm happy with the brightness on the screen, the blacks are better than my X30 for sure and those were great. When I demo'd the NX5 versus the Sony 295ES I felt the JVC was the clear winner in brightness, sharpness and black level... please do take my opinion with a grain of salt though as I am no expert on the subject. I've always considered my ability to distinguish audio and video fidelity at a rather basic level... but the NX5 vs 295 comparison was easy for me to see when I could flip between them.

I'm only about 5 movies deep right now, so not a lot of hours on the projector yet, considering actually getting this one professionally calibrated to get the most out of it and also considering looking at the Panasonic player to pair with it to really maximize it.

Well I'm joining the club! Receiving my RS1000 / NX5 today or tomorrow. It'll be replacing my RS400. Wanted the RS2000 / NX7 but it was $11k with taxes here in Canada, so I decided to go with the base model for now. In a few years when they perfect the tech a bit more as well, I'll be all in for a more expensive model.

Congrats! It's an awesome projector, loving mine. The NX5 was beyond my budget but I stretched it and I'm happy I did. The thing is a beast though so make sure you clear some space for it.

For the money and overall UHD performance, nothing touches the NX5. I'm really happy with my RS440, but I plan to eventually upgrade to the future model of the NX5 perhaps in 1-2 years.

It's amazing and I couldn't justify all that extra money for a bit more contrast and lumens for the NX7.

The colours appear better on the NX7 and the black level is better too. Regardless, I’m still less happy with the NX7 black level after being used to the X790.

The new "frame adapt" firmware came out last night for those of you with one of these projectors.
