Default Good Buy?

I am trying to get into the 4K game and I found this TV (https://www.bestbuy.com/site/hisense...?skuId=6404020 and was wondering if this is going to be a good buy.

I don't have a lot of money so I can't really go much higher than $500 and I have seen lots of people on this forum sing the praises of Hisense.

Any help would be appreciated.

There are better budget 4K UHD TVs like: Vizio and TCL, but if this particular TV is within your price range then go for it. I would most certainly buy an extended warranty from the retailer, to cover any repairs that may occur after the one year manufacturer warranty has expired.

Any particular model for either one that I should look at?

If I were you, I would buy one of these two TVs instead of that Hisense TV you were looking at. Both are way more worthwhile TVs than that low-end Hisense crap.

2020 TCL 5 Series: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/tcl-55-...?skuId=6422766

2020/2021 Vizio M-Series Quantum (MQ7 version): https://www.bestbuy.com/site/vizio-5...?skuId=6416413

A quality 55 inch TV is better than a mediocre 65 inch TV.

I’d second this, although I’d lean more towards the Vizio 2021 M series over the TCL 5 series.

Edit: I wouldn’t say Hisense are crap because last year’s models did perform fairly well according to different reviews, but at that price range I think Vizio is the best one.

Thank you to both of the posters above me (I can never remember how to quote two people at the same time). I think that I am going to go with the Vizio. It is a little bit more than the TCL, but it looks like it is going to be the tv that I want.

To be 100% sure I’d suggest waiting for rtings to test and publish their results on their website for these models ^ (2020 TCL 5 series and 2021 Vizio M series). You might have to wait a few weeks but I think it’d be worth it to get the better model.

Rtings’ TCL 5 series review:

https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/tc...ries-s535-2020

Seems like a pretty good model tbh. The only real downside I could see is that it doesn’t get very bright but it seems to do pretty well in all other areas.

Thew review for the Vizio M series should be out in the next few days.

To quote two or more posts at the same to time, you'll have to open a another tab to do it. You have to cut each post separately, and then paste them under each other and submit when you're done.

I just got the 55” Hisense h8g and am pretty pleased with it. For the price I think it has many great features and I am impressed with the picture. I also like the android tv since it has Hbo max and other apps not found on Roku. It is $500 so meets your price range. Tough to find a good 65” tv under $500.
Just my two cents
