Arrow Hisense L9G 4K HDR RGB Tripple Laser UST Projector

Hisense was kind to include our company in the first allocation of the new L9G triple laser UST projector.

We set the projector up in our showroom with their included 100" UST/ALR hard screen and I must say we were all very impressed with the performance of this new UST projection system. Excellent high peak luminance, 3,000 nits and deep rich blacks and color saturation.

We're including Hisense's L9G in our September 13, 2021 UST Projector Shootout Evaluation event.

Here's the link to Hisense's new webpage on the L9G.

Here's Hisense's L9G .pdf spec sheet link.

Why boast over 100% (107%) of the BT2020 spectrum?

Shouldn't anything over be noise ? Maybe people like noise.

I know over is better than under but I sure hope it's possible to calibrate these.

@bhampton. Their is color beyond BT.2020 and it's not bad to have the capability to have better color fidelity and setting the projector up properly to delivery the best possible picture quality, color saturation and color volume.

The Twice article claims that these two new Hisense projectors PX1-Pro and L9G have Dolby Vision HDR. However this is incorrect information since no consumer projector offers Dolby Vision HDR yet. I see no evidence online that a Dolby Vision HDR firmware update was offered for these projectors. Just standard HDR10 with no HDR10+ or Dolby Vision for the native 1080P light engine projectors that use pixel shifting technology to simulated 4K.

I created a dedicated post regarding this issue at the following link that shows there is no evidence for Dolby Vision HDR like the Twice article mentions

Hisense will have a firmware update to add Dolby Vision HDR for the PX1-PRO, L9G, and L5G UST projectors. No exact date at this moment, but it's expected sometime in March.

Thanks for the information. If this actually happens then these projectors will be the first consumer projectors on the market with Dolby Vision HDR. I wish they would also get HDR10+ with a firmware update. But another issue is these projectors are still using 1080P light engines. One day the DLP chips should be made with true native 4K DMD's like the 4K LCOS projectors.

This is an interesting quote on the L9G (I guess one cannot believe everything they read online:

No Dolby Vision on L9G

"No Dolby Vision or HDR10+ here but with most projectors having limited brightness capabilities anyway there is not much to be missed by these two."
