Hisense partnered with Value Electronics for the early launch of their three new UST projector systems.
I am most excited about the PX1-PRO 4K HDR RGB Triple Laser UST Projector that has a lens that supports projecting images from 90" to 130" so you can select the screen and image size that best matches you current and future-proofs you for your next room change or just to upgrade to a larger screen whenever you like. I just built our PX1-PRO webpage, which also has the .pdf spec. sheet with all of the specifications and features. New enhancements in addition to the variable focus lens the PX1-PRO has deeper blacks and improved HDR performance. Hisense's new PX1-PRO is launching at the sale price os $3,499, which includes Nationwide shipping and we have 5 exclusive bundle deals for including your choice of UST/ARL screens or one of Panasonic's HDR Optimizer BE players/Smart Streaming devices. |

Curious as to how does it compare to L9G? Looks like this one has lower brightness and promises better contrast but how it is in real world?

You said it perfectly, Hisense's new PX1-PRO has deeper blacks and better low luminance detail.
One of the methods employed to lower the black floor was to lower the peak luminance output so the PX1-PRO's three lasers (RGB) could use their luminance range to start it's projected images tonal range lower hence delivering deeper blacks with more shadow details. With all this said, unless you are not happy with the L9G blacks, I'm not recommending you change your Hisense L9G for the PX1-PRO. The PX1-PRO is designed for moderate to low luminance viewing, the L9G can perform better in higher ambient light. I gave one of our PX1-PRO UST projectors to the SpareChange YouTube channel owner, Shane who will be doing his unboxing, set-up and 1st impressions video. I hope it goes up tonight, but more likely tomorrow, Jan. 1, 2022. |

Are there calibration numbers for the contrast and black level?

So much of the contrast measurements and the Minimum Luminance Level. MLL is dependent on the screen fabric, and the ambient light in the room. So it's difficult to get honest and accurate contrast ratio and MLL specifications.
Hisense's new PX1-PRO and Samsung's LSP9T have the best blacks when compared to all UST projections systems. Just yesterday and for the next 10 days Hisense has the 100" and 120" flagship L9G on sale. Here's the list of all Hisense UST projector system Super Bowl Promotional offers that are available through Value Electronics. ![]() |

I wish companies would start making DLP and LCD projectors with native 4K light engines instead of using 1080P light engines with pixel shifting technology (glad that Sony and JVC offer native 4K LCOS projectors). Also no consumer projector has Dolby Vision HDR feature yet. Lets see if Hisense really offers a firmware update for Dolby Vison HDR, I have my doubts that is going to happen.

There's been no real R&D into reasonably priced DLP chips for many years. Texas Instruments pulled that plug back around 2010 or so if I recall. XPR DLP (eshift chip) does provide a very sharp image though. Lack of contrast is the bigger issue but these short throws tend to be better vs the DLP long throw although still nowhere near JVC (contrast king of projection, period). Rainbows can be an issue for some depending on the model. Dolby Vision wants control over the experience which is harder to do with long throw FP, but easier to do with short throw. Most likely this Hisense projector will never receive a firmware update to offer HDR10+ and Dolby Vision HDR (Summer is over and the promised Dolby Vision HDR firmware update either will never happen or it may be delayed until summer of 2023. But most likely will never occur the firmware update to Dolby Vision HDR). So far no consumer projector on the market offers the Dolby Vision HDR feature. This projector light engine is not native 4K but instead uses 1080P light engine with pixel shifting technology.
Select quotes from Sound and Vision magazine review: “The PX1-Pro is not a native 4K projector but rather mates a Texas Instruments DLP chip with a super-fast four-way pixel shifting mirror to fool your eyes into thinking they're watching native 4K—and convincingly so.” “The unit displayed an up-to-date status with no indication (as of late August) that the Dolby Vision high-dynamic range (HDR) upgrade promised for the summer had yet been activated.” https://www.soundandvision.com/content/hisense-px1-pro-4k-dlp-laser-tv-projector-review Last edited by HDTV1080P; 09-24-2022 at 02:07 AM. |

@HDTV1080P thanks for the post. Sorry to not agree with the assessment.
First know that my PX1-PRO has the Dolby Vision update and it's preforming very well. I lent it to a YouTuber for their review. I also just spoke with Hisense engineers about the Dolby Vision Firmware update and they have been rolling out the updates as fast as the servers can deliver the firmware files to every Hisense UST Laser Projectors that are registered and online. I believe more than 2,000 Hisense UST projectors have been updated with the new Dolby Vision Firmware. |

Then this firmware update must have just came out in the month of September, since the latest review by Sound and Vision magazine said as of late August no firmware update for Dolby Vision HDR. Another issue is that when I go to the Hisense USA home page and bring up the specs for the PX1-Pro projector, it still shows in the specs HDR10 only. So, the company has not updated their website to mention Dolby Vision HDR. So one has to be a registered owner of the projector to see the firmware history of this projector? Well I am glad this projector is offering Dolby Vision HDR now. That would mean that this is the very first consumer projector to offer the feature. $100.000+ projectors for consumers do not offer Dolby Vision HDR. I am very surprised that this is not getting more news coverage for a $3,500 projector. So the Hisense website does not mention Dolby Vision HDR, and the only way to verify this projector has Dolby Vision HDR, is to actually purchase the projector. Hisense needs to update their website and mention that they are the very first consumer projector company to work with Dolby to offer Dolby Vision HDR. https://assets.hisense-usa.com/asset...PX1-PRO_SS.pdf https://www.hisense-usa.com/support/...a-laser-cinema |

@HDTV1080P, thank you and I will pass this along!
I did discuss them saying in one part of the website something like "Dolby Vision coming with a firmware update end of Summer 2022". They told me it was being updated as we speak. |
