Default Under the Silver Lake - 12th December 2018

Le Pacte will release Under the Silver Lake in France on 12th December 2018

Anyone know if the French subs will be optional?

I'm writing a review about it and, unfortunately, they aren't optional. Sorry :/.

I would have grabbed this if the subs were optional. Damn, that's disappointing...

Any features on the release?

No special features (making-of, deleted scenes...) were shot and Mitchell declined an interview :/.

Someone over at the Criterion forum has said that the French subtitles can be switched off: http://www.criterionforum.org/forum/...15314&start=50

I suspect they may have a player that manages to remove them somehow as everything else I've read as said they are unremovable. One review I read suggested 'reframing' the TV screen so they couldn't be seen.

My copy arrived this morning and I easily turned off the subtitles off using the subtitle button on my remote.
There is no option on the blu ray menu to watch without subtitles but you definitely can toggle them off using the subtitle button.
Hop this helps someone.
