Sony Pictures Men In Black: International (2019) No 3D Blu-ray

Don't know much about this. All I can tell you is that DNEG (Prime Focus) has updated their website and are now showing a conversion in the works for this movie.

We will just have to keep an eye on it. Considering that this has a June release date, such an announcement is rather late.

DNEG STEREO SUPERVISOR: Ricky Aggarwal

DNEG STEREO PRODUCER: Annsh Patel

RELEASE DATE: 14th June 2019

I'm actually looking forward to this. Bloody great cast IMHO. Hemsworth is damn funny (IMHO I lived Ghostbusters, and buying the BR for that is worth it just for all his extended outtakes, plus him in Thor also). Neeson can also be pretty funny. I still crack up thinking about his cameo in Life's Too Short. Thompson was great in Ragnarok too.

Looks like a blast. With this being Sony though i'm expecting to have to import a 3D Blu as they don't seem to release them in the UK anymore.

Great of Sony to have International in the title, as that's where I'll have to look for the 3D blu.

This film will debut late next week in the USA. 3D showings will be available but limited. For example, my favorite (lowest-priced) Cinemark theater lists only a 10:15 pm 3D showing. Perhaps more 3D showings will be posted next week?

Looks fun, but I dont like the female actor. She has no charisma or charm or .... anything. IMO of course.

And Chris seems like ragnarok thor without the powers.

still, ill watch it.

She was good in Thor Ragnarok 3D, as already mentioned. This brother looks more like Chris Hemsworth as Liam gets older. Liam Hemsworth co-starring alongside Liam Neeson.

The trailer looks kind of slow, but I really enjoyed MIB3 and its medium to high medium 3D, so will probably check this out in 3D theaters too. Just hoping for a better trailer showing what they're fighting against. So far, it's a mystery and kind of doesn't look exciting yet.

Wait, what? Are you saying Liam is in this?

Got my 3D ticket for tomorrow, can't wait, especially in 1.85:1, I'll report here. I usually (re)watch previous films before seeing a sequel in the cinema (watched all the X-Men in 4K or 3D before seeing Dark Phoenix in 3D on Monday), but I couldn't watch the MIB films again in 4K + 3D before this because I saw them in January.

Besides, I get the impression that this will seriously freshen up the 'franchise'; I for one am certainly pleasantly surprised by Sony's audacity to team Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson together again after they led a Disney blockbuster so recently. I'm not expecting the plot to be anything other than formulaic, though hopefully characters/locations will be interesting. Really hoping Hemsworth shoots to peak stardom (truly untethered from Thor, though not dropping that role) now and leads more varied blockbusters that require/allow/showcase his great comedic/improv talent.

Got my 3D ticket for Thursday. If you go to the IMAX version, it comes with a set of the (men in black) sunglasses but it's not in 3D. At least not here.

Just got out. Solid medium-strong depth. Several fun pop-outs coming directly up to the camera, from a snake attacking Agent H to a taxi simply parking to drop off Agent M; as well as plenty of augmented reality stuff (basically holograms, images on windshields, Iron Man helmet stuff) that is consistently in front of the screen. There's one particularly satisfying scene where Agents M and H are looking centrally into a quasi-Fish-Eye-lense (it is from the POV of the small Pawny character, to whom they are talking) and their faces are consistently popping out. As expected, there's nothing really strong, but it's a solid conversion (though being CGI-heavy, a lot of it is native digital 3D) from DNEG by typical modern standards.

The film itself is scarily as expected. Literally exactly what I had imagined from the (all too revealing) trailers. Very predictable, yet also just as entertaining as I'd hoped. Thankfully it doesn't take itself seriously. Wish there was a sequel already!

Man, that's good to hear. Shame that I have no interest in the film itself.
