I'm assuming it will just be the same menu layout without the dude...

What would have worked -- and what all UHD players should have -- is just the "Ultra HD Blu-ray" logo (in fairness to the Panasonic 820 I returned, the screen did show this logo when a disc was stopped, which was very cool) in the center of the screen with the company's branding; maybe they'll switch to Oppo's approach with the varying nature sequences when you select different menu options...

So thrilled the next update will cover the two things we really need from them in the Sony DV compatibility and HDR10+.
Looking forward to the HDR10+ myself, as my Samsung supports it; I wonder how many Blu-ray titles will be available in the format going forward.

First one that comes to mind that has HDR10+ is Bad Times at the El Royale.

It's not a very big list, unlike Dolby Vision.

Yeah, I see that. I was more interested in future releases that may be authored with the 10+ encode.

As it stands, none of the current titles available are appealing to me, personally.

Have other TV manufacturers besides Samsung said they would add HDR10+ decoding to their TVs?

It was developed in-conjunction with Amazon and Panasonic, so the latter might adopt it in the future.
