I was shocked that they didn't do a decade anniversary first time release of Cat From Outer Space. My grandpa (who is a DMC member) has this film on DVD, and I have fond memories of watching it a lot at his house with my cousins. I really hope that they release this movie on Blu-Ray, since the movie holds up quite well, and is a pretty decent family oriented film in general. Hoping that in 5 or so years, they release it, since it's almost 50 years old...

Just rented it on iTunes (in HD) - thanks for mentioning it!

Only ones I give a shit about.
These are critical. I have no idea why Disney is dragging their feet on them.

I wonder what the hold up is with this, being it seems to have a cult following? I've seen it a few times, wouldn't call it that great, but would still pick it up if they ever release it in HD on digital platforms.

Song of the south was on dvd here but only at the uncle remus museum years ago. From what we heard Disney stopped the sales but don't know if that's true.

Good luck finding that dvd now.

Quote:
While we were here I was able to purchase "Song of the South" which is a film made by Disney in 1946 that is set on a plantation in Georgia and based on "Uncle Remus"; it is a banned piece of history. This film is very hard to find since being "retired" by Disney in 1986, but the museum has copies on DVD; and I was told that anyone wishing to have a copy of this marvelous piece of history can call the museum to have it shipped out or they can drop in the museum to pick up a copy.

Has there been any hints about the Black Cauldron? Disney has been on a role this year with a few long wanted titles.
