Iím wondering the same thing. We know how Disney is notorious for NOT releasing shows on physical media, I wonder if this will affect The Simpsons or if itíll be like how LucasFilm still puts out Star Wars Rebels despite being Disney owned.

It would be just typical that once Fox started releasing these again, something would screw it up.

First off, the sale is only announced, not anywhere near final. That's still probably at least a year out, if not longer.

So hopefully, Fox starts pumping stuff out to make some fast final cash off this stuff in the interim. At the least, season 19, since the commentaries are supposedly already done.

But yeah, afterward? I don't have any faith in seeing seasons 21+ ever make it to disc.

Has a limited edition molded head been released for this season anywhere? Will purchase either way, but would prefer to continue my collection of 'heads'.

Nope. They pretty much cheapened out with this set. But I donít care, as long as we have the episodes on disc lol.

Still bummed that there is no Blu-Ray. And I hope that at the very least, they consider Blu-Ray from S21 onwards (first all HD season).

It sucks to have S1-12 DVD, S13-17 BD, S18-19* DVD, S20 BD... S21 ?

I hope at the very least, we get a DVD of S19 (at least S1-20 we will be able to own).

Great minds... Was just looking for an announcement for S19.

Still havenít unwrapped my S18 PAL DVD since Iím tossing up whether to import US NTSC DVD of S18, because since the S13 Blu-Ray, been watching/listening to The Simpsons at the correct speed/pitch.

Let's hope so, there's no way I'm upgrading seasons 1-18 on Blu-ray but since I got the 20th season on Blu-ray I won't mind if the 19th is released in either formats. From the 21st and up let's hope it's all blu or better yet 4k.

Yes, IF we manage to get season 19 on DVD and IF they actually continue physical releases, then I really hope they do put seasons 21-on on Blu-ray since those are actual HD episodes.

However, Iím not even holding my breath for season 19, let alone the rest of the show.

Iíve said it before and Iíll say it again; at this point Iíd rather have barebones Blu-ray releases of 21-on than nothing at all. Release like one or two a month because this is ridiculous. The DVDs first started coming out in 2001. I appreciate the effort they put into these, I really do, but thereís a point when itís almost not even worth it anymore.

FOX never published BR in France... I want to finish my collection of DVD sets from 1 to 20 (I didn't buy S20 in DVD because of the missing commentaries but I don't think they'll re-release it next year, right?).
Hope they will with S21-30 en BR (and BR only!). I totally agree with rexcrk, they need to release BR for HD episodes and with several BR a year (like they did twice a year back in the days...) The releases are too late. We have 11 seasons of delay!!!

It appears that season 20 on Blu-ray has been discontinued in Australia, so I'd better lap it up before it disappears completely. Meanwhile, the DVD version has received even slimmer (and cheaper-looking) packaging.

I had skipped season 20 on Blu for the simple reason that I had assumed that a proper complete release (with deleted scenes, commentaries etc.) in a design uniform with the other releases would eventually come along.

The cruelest thing about FOX's continued crappy treatment of The Simpsons on home video is that the HD seasons will likely not be released on Blu-ray.

I pretty much stopped watching The Simpsons after Network TEN (who previously held FTA broadcasting rights in Australia) treated the show like crap and dumped it on one of their SD multichannels upon launch (even though The Simpsons was infamously a staple slot-filler on their network, and new episodes were still rating quite well). FOX deciding to no longer release The Simpsons on home video was the biggest spit in the face to me as a lifelong fan. I have stopped watching at around season 22/23 or so, only having caught the odd episode since. I do intend to continue collecting and watching the series on home video, however, but I am not sure if I want to continue collecting if FOX refuse to release seasons 20+ in Blu-ray. I am willing to tolerate the mediocrity of the latter part of The Simpsons' run, but the least they could do is provide it with decent A/V quality.
