I've other models in the series, the 900 (old model) and the 9000. The 900 is basically the old version of the 820. The only diff with 420 to 820 I believe is no dolby vision, and a couple of HDR optimizer settings. But for 3d, the Panasonics work well. And having a multi region one is great

They also are the only players with the ability to both shift subtitles and drop luminance (so can make bright white subtitles dimmer and less obnoxious).

Just look at them for optical disc playback though. Don't expect it to be an all in one for usb and streaming media

Default Sony UBPX-700 3D 4K region free

Like Okiephile, I bought the Sony UBPX-700 3D 4K region free from 220Electronics during the Black Friday sales week for $269, over $100 cheaper than the Pannie. Give it a look and see if it fits your needs for less money.

Thanks Collect3D. As Okiephile said in the other thread, I'm a Panni guy BUT I also ask for ideas and feedback from the Forum.

So I would definitely look into Sony player mentioned.
