On a more positive note, Space Adventure Cobra UHD is in stock at Rightstuf.

Nothing goes out of print on the day it releases. I had to read that multiple times to make sure it was a legitimate post, thought it was a joke.

I'm a bit confused with Eastern Star and Discotek. Isn't it the same distributor/company?

Discotek is the company who does all the work. Eastern Star is the distributor of the product.

At least, I think.

I think that might only be for North American customers. I've mentioned it before, but I've still got an open order with them from their July sale. I'm pretty sure it's the Galaxy Express Blu-rays holding that one up.

Guess I'll wait and see.

I've had an open order since January for title lol. Sucks but hopefully they will get the stock in.

Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid still remains out of stock at Right Stuf, but UP1 (US/UK) has it in stock. Amazon does, too.

About time, to be honest.

Any chance of the Beyblade Blu-Rays going out of print?

I'm a bit tempted because I have nostalgia for the original series but currently there's only one listing on eBay and it's a bit out of my price range.

UP1 get items from RS, so only Amazon has this right now, my friend.

An anime license usually lasts like 5-7 years from what I’ve heard, so I doubt they’ll be going out of print anytime soon.

Discotek had all three seasons on their eBay page earlier in the week.

That's good news, then. I ordered from UP1 and they finally dispatched my batch which was on hold for months as they were waiting for new stock of Hans Christian The Little Mermaid.

I also asked them to grab me a copy of Saint Seiya - Collection 2 from RS and they had no issues with it, but a few card packs of DBZ ($0.99) they weren't able somehow.

I usually lurk, but I have been very interested in the distribution issues. It sounds like this is spilling into other industries. I’m not 100% positive this is related but it sounds very similar to Justin Sevakis’s posts:
https://www.billboard.com/articles/b...rds-merch-site

In the meantime, I am planing to preorder the Giant Robo and Galaxy Express 999 blu rays. I thought I would ask for advice in terms of earliest availability. I am more concerned about getting this as soon as possible and less concerned with price. In the past I’ve always pre- ordered from RightStuf. Sometimes they even ship before the release date. With both Kimagure sets, my order did not ship until 2 weeks after the release date. I was considering Amazon.
Any recent personal experience would be greatly appreciated.

I'm limited in what I can say, but yes, that is 100% related, but doesn't even cover all of the issues they've been having. I have never seen such a huge company utterly self-destruct in the way our distributor has in the last 6 months.

For pre-orders, I am currently recommending that everybody order from Right Stuf, as new releases are now being sent to them directly rather than through a distributor. As for back catalog... well, it'll be spotty for a while, so you might have to go huntin'.

Some further reading. This is affecting more than just Discotek, it’s an industry-wide fiasco. (Just... not really our industry) https://www.billboard.com/articles/b...-record-stores

I'm not sure how related to all the distribution issues this is, but I know Discotek's releases for Jin-Roh and Venus Wars are considered OOP... I was at Youmacon last weekend and the Discotek booth had both titles readily available for $20 each. Again, not sure if it's distribution related, or if they just have extra back stock for cons and such, but I thought it was worth noting.

Going by the clues, I'm guessing Berserk.
