Default Happy (North American) 20th anniversary to the Sega Dreamcast (9/9/99)!

This was a really nifty console. I still have mine but it's sitting in the box somewhere. However, the damage to the Sega brand was already done and the competition was too much to overcome, and that was that for Sega.

Here's an Engadget article talking about the legacy of the Dreamcast and how it predicted everything about modern consoles.

Anyone here ever own a Dreamcast?

I miss my Dreamcast! Don't miss VMUs though...

There's a non-working Dreamcast in my closet on top of two Typing of the Dead keyboards, I wonder if I can get it repaired?

Aside from the fact that Sega somehow didn't think that adding a right analog stick was important, I thought the Dreamcast was just about perfect! Still to this day it had the best launch line up of any console in history.

Wow those 20 years went by fast.

I remember waiting in line on launch day to get mine. I also remember trying to profit on it at Christmas & that didnít happen because of Elmo. Remember that plush toy? I think I ended up getting only my money back. No profit.

I did like the system & rented it a few times when that was a thing.

My family had one. I wasn't really gaming at the time. I played through Sonic Adventure over winter break once. Loved it, and later got the port on PS3.
