![]() I'm hoping to get a carada screen sooner or later. I have some other costs I have to deal with first though. Do you have any suggestions as to which Carada you found to be the best? |

I used Snowball IV's recommended camera settings and shot these after my calibration tonight. Shot with lowest compression setting and saved in .PNG format. No other compression occurred other than what Blu-ray.com does to them. Used Avatar for screenshot test.
I used a KODAK DX7440 camera on a tripod. I stood in several images to give a sense of scale. I am 6'2" tall. ![]() Big version ![]() Big version ![]() Big version ![]() Big Version ![]() Big version Last edited by DrNegative; 06-06-2010 at 07:17 AM. |

Just checked my lamp hours, have 2200 hours on my bulb (and around that many when photos where taken). In the last 100 hours though I have seen a significant drop in pq. I on average have used the projector for a bit over 3 hours a day. To be fair when I did get it I had several weekend movie marathons with some mates. Due to the constantly dimming image I have just bought myself a new globe ($400AU out of my 3d projector savings

Good call on getting a new bulb and holding off on the 3D savings.
I think my plan for the 3D is to talk a friend (one with a TV,... actually I don't know anyone else with a front projector) into getting it setup and then they will be dying to show it off so I'll go watch movies at their place once in a while. I have several people that love to come watch movies at my place. I also know someone who loves movies but still has a standard def CRT TV. (A nice one but it's calling for replacement.) For now, I'm taking the same approach I take to classic cars. I love to see them but I'll let someone else deal with all the work. -Brian |

I am at about 2,500 hours on my bulb . I have had the PJ for almost A year & it had about 1,800 hours on it when I got it . I do have a brand new bulb waiting . So I think I might put the new one in to see how much better the PQ is & just keep the used one for A Emergency back up . Thanks Bud ![]() |

Still learning how to use my new camera (Canon SX210 IS), but I took a few shots with it today that came out pretty nice. The images don't look quite as sharp as they actually do on the screen though.
Madagascar 2 - Gotta love the black levels from the Epson 8500UB! ![]() Alice In Wonderland ![]() Avatar ![]() Sorry about the slight skew to the top of the image. I had the tripod just under the projector lens to get these. In fact, I think you can see the top of the camera at the bottom edge of the image. Oops!
