Good news, I imagine they have been planning the movie with 3D in mind! Joss Whedon said he is big a fan of 3D during a panel at Comic-Con.

It's a double win: 1. Whedon is a fan of the format! 2. It will be produced in 3D from the very beginning!.. My excitement level for this movie just got kicked up a notch!

Sweet I only can't believe it took Marvel this long. Apparently Marvel considered a 3D conversion for Iron Man 2 but didn't have the time. Joe Johnson admitted could have shot Captain America in 3D but instead converted for some reason. About time we get a native 3D shoot that will be sure to rock

Joe Johnson said the equipment was too cumbersome to work with. They did a test shoot with the 3D equipment and decided to convert. He said that some of the Avatar stuff was shot in 3D and converted, and if done correctly a conversion can look as good as native shot stuff. Then went on to challenge people to figure out what parts of Avatar were shot native and which were converted.

I think Jackass was filmed in 3D as Johnny Knoxville said he was going to shove a 3D camera up someones ass.

I think Priests was converted, I'm pretty sure it was delayed and Annonced it was going to be converted.

Scott recently acquired Symphony 3D, a company that manufactures 3D glasses and the MasterImage 3D projection screen. So he is well positioned to produce a striking 3D experience

WOW I was under impression that AIW was shot in 3D. Alice looked fantastic to me in 3D kudos to their conversion team. I was so sure they shot it 3D I looked it up, but I was incorrect...

Burton-

Just because all the techniques we were using, there’s no point shooting in 3D when there’s nothing to shoot. So we were using so many different techniques. We didn’t go motion capture, we had live action, we had animation, we had virtual sets — a little bit of sets. So I looked from when we did the conversion from Nightmare, Ken Ralston and I looked at things that were shot in 3D and shot in 2D conversion and it’s like anything. All of these tools, you can see good 3D, bad 3D, good conversions, bad conversions. We always knew it was 3D, so we did all the proper planning so when we got to that stage — when we got the elements finally together– it was just another piece of the technology. In fact, that was probably more some of the easier technology than the other elements that we were dealing with.

My Soul to Take is converted, and reviews are saying it's barely even noticeable.

Well all i can say is that it seems to me that the people in charge are starting to get it right , so hopefully all movies will be filmed in 3d and not converted . I thought resident evil looked good and i guess it shows at the box office too which is exactly what we want .

Definitely... Personally I thought the film was cack of the highest order! But it featured some of the best 3D I have seen since How To Train Your Dragon!

It's the size of the rigs that is holding 3D back. Joe Johnston shot some test footage for Captain America using the PACE Fusion set-up, but found the camera far too cumbersome and intrusive on set. However, I believe James Cameron has been doing the rounds showing off the latest PACE setup, which is about 50% smaller than previous incarnations.

The quicker the 'mass' of the 3D camera rigs is decreased, the more people will start using the 3D tech from the start of production!

Say no to shoddy 3D conversions... Say yes to Native 3D!
