PS2/PS3 Dualshock parts question... - Blu-ray Forum

Without going into a ton of detail, I'm interested in swapping out the X, O, circle, triangle buttons on a PS2 DualShock 2 controller for customization reasons.

The problem is finding replacement/custom buttons for it. Everything that I'm finding is for the PS3 or PS4 controller.

While I know each controller for each PS system has had changed and upgrades from the system prior, some of them do look like they MAY share the same parts, but I'm not certain.

Would those four face buttons (just the actual buttons themselves as pictured below, not the other components that they would come in contact with) be the same in both the PS2 and PS3 controllers? Meaning if I bought a set of PS3 replacement buttons, would they fit and be compatible in the PS2 Dualshock 2?

Dual Shock 1, 2 and 3 and SIXAXIS controls all had the same buttons, they are interchangeable.
