I wish Square would bring back Parasite Eve. I think there's potential to make a great game to rival others like Resident Evil.

Square doesn’t have the rights to Parasite Eve anymore, as the games were sequels to a Japanese novel and movie. That’s actually why the third game in the series didn’t have Parasite Eve in the title, being simply called The Third Birthday.

I bought each of these day 1 when they came out. The first one was short but a lot of fun. I think PE2 was even better. The battle engine was cool.

Would love to see a third game but it seems like Square is long past creating non-blockbuster RPGs.

Personally I don't think the author wants to give out the rights. If they did I think The Third Birthday would have been Parasite Eve 3 instead.

Speaking of, clearly nothing ever did come of the story/rumor that Madonna wanted/had the rights to make a Parasite Eve movie, right? I mean, I haven't heard of anything clearly, so did time just come and go and the rights reverted back? Or did she ever have the rights?

Don’t play The 3rd Birthday. It basically exists only to bring back the cast, but they’re completely different from who they were in the PE games and it shits all over the lore. It has some cool gameplay mechanics but as far as story goes, it’s BAD.

I was so mad when they didn't even bother to put Daniel or Ben in the 3rd Birthday! I hated everything about that game. It was god awful! I don't know why they even bothered making it after they lost the rights from the book.

Parasite Eve is one of my top 10 favorite games. It was quite a beautiful game when it came out. I would love to see a remaster of this underrated classic,

Or maybe, but unlikely, a complete remake. Modernize the mechanics, enhance the story, use today's graphics. Could be amazing.
