Default Silent Hill

Is there any hope for a reboot, continuation or is this franchise completely dead and buried? I miss so much this franchise, one of the first games that didn't allowed me to sleep back when I was in my 20's

I am a huge fan, and while I would never say, 'never,' it does not look good.

I´m a huge fan of the series as well I check for any updates reguarly but sadly I think Silent Hill is probably dead. If only Konami would sell the i.p. onto someone else there might be a glimmer of hope we´ll see something but I can´t see it ever happening. Can‘t believe they cancelled Silent Hills either that game probably would‘ve been incredible. Part of me hopes Konami are secretly working on something, I mean Silent Hill is one of the best i.ps why completely abandon it?

Hope you like Pachinko, because The only thing Konami hates more than you is Silent Hill.

My favorite story
It’s a pity that they treated her like that. I hope someday she will be reanimated

All it will take is for the current CEO to step down and be replaced by a more competent one to see what treasures they have in their inventory, dust off those neglected IPs and get them to work again.

The whole Silent Hills debacle was a tragedy. I imagine a Silent Hill game on VR would be an absolute mind f*ck!

One of my favorite stories, I really hope that it will be re-shot. It will be a new era

Silent Hill is my favorite game franchise. I own all of these games except for The Room and Shattered Memories. I do admit that I have not played every game, yet. I can confidently say that Downpour is horrible.

The most awesome horror game character is Pyramid Head.

Long live Silent Hill.

Unfortunately, there still aren't any news that Silent Hill will reboot anytime soon or see a continuation, which is a shame considering this is, by far, one of the best horror games yet.

I miss the Silent Hill games. I spent countless hours in the early to mid 2000's playing the games. Silent Hill 2, 3, & Origins were my favorites. I enjoyed Homecoming as well, although not as much as the earlier games.

I am hoping Kojima still does 'Silent Hills' but just don't call it 'Silent Hill.'

I need to get back into Death Stranding.

For my money, P.T. was one of the most impressive horror experiences in the last 10 years. What a painful tease of what could have been.

I just wish the first 3 would get a release on PS4 that’s not the HD collection.

The first three games are some of my favorites of all time. I even like The Room and Downpour. I'd love to see another game but with the way Konami treats their properties (Metal Gear Survive and Contra Rogue Corps are prime examples), it would likely be horrible.

Silent Hill 1 is my favorite of the series.

my order:
1. Silent Hill 1
2. Silent Hill 2
3. Silent Hill Origins
4. Silent Hill 3

would be awesome to see a remake of Silent Hill 1 and 2 in the same style as the Resident Evil remakes.

I've always felt that Silent Hill should be handled by a Japanese studio, which is where the original began. Farming it out to western developers to appeal more to a western audience missed the point. It's not Resident Evil, that based itself off of B movie horror.

As things stand at the moment, I have little faith in Konami. I wanted a remake of Silent Hill 1 for years. We got Shattered Memories, which while a good game, is not what many wanted. That's where I have to give full credit to Capcom for their recent efforts with Resident Evil 2 and 3. They are also looking to the future with Village.

Done properly, a remake of Silent Hill 1 and 2 would be amazing. As it stands at the moment, a reimagined brand new Silent Hill story by an in house Japanese Sony studio is the best I can hope for. It needs to do its own thing and be innovative if it's to have a future. Silent Hill: Homecoming, while decent, is a bit of a retread and taking its cue from the movie.

After seeing what Sucker Punch made with Ghost of Tsushima, I'm not sure I would agree.

Just the fact that a western developer made such a Japanese-centric game and it has gone over so well. Especially IN Japan where it has done extremely well both critically and commercially. My point was I don't think Silent Hill HAS to be made by a Japanese developer in order for it to be successful.

But Ghost of Tsushima was specifically originally made by a western developer to begin with, not a western developer taking over a franchise from the previous Japanese developers. And clearly it has to be because the western made SH games have all been forgettable at best, dumpster fires at worst. The fact that the best Silent Hill game in a long time was a playable teaser for an upcoming revival of the franchise (before the game was cancelled) made by Japanese developer Hideo Kojima speaks volumes. And this is before comparing the difference between Japanese horror games and western horror games.
