It should even be done when posting articles. At the same time, just like when checking out a trailer, when you start reading about a film your interested in and haven't seen, your most likely going to read or see some sort of spoiler.

I'll also throw in that it's wise to use the spoiler tag feature when posting large pictures.

DAMN IT!!! Why did I click on that?!?! I thought it would just be a "It works" comment hidden underneath! I've been trying to last until I was 40 years old (7 more years) to finally watch that film. Some warning would have been nice!

Saw a segment on the NBC Today show last week about spoilers. There consensus was that after a few weeks, people should not have any rational reason to expect TV/movie/other plot twists to remain hidden. Their feeling seemed to be that if you didn't care enough to watch something when it first aired, your need to remain spoiler-free should not limit other's ability to discuss it.

They even went as far to say out loud that Vader was

. What if a father was wanting his son to experience the same sense of shock at that revelation as when he had first seen it? Overseas, I knew someone who was waiting for the last season of Lost to come out on DVD (it wasn't aired on the main channel in the country) and was very upset when a new person arrived in country and revealed the ending as soon as he learned the other person was interested in the show.

Needless to say, I believe that spoiler hiding is a good thing and am glad it is so easy to do, just wish more people would actually use them when they make comments about movie and TV shows.
