They will be ceiling mounted and angled to the sweet spot of course. I will also consider an older version but not too old but don't know what the differences are between current versions and a few versions back. Can anyone chime in on this.
V6 is the newest and the difference between the v6 and v5 of the monitor series is the grills, the v6 have magnets and are more acoustically transparent the the V5, the other main difference with the V6 is the crossover on the mids and highs have been tweaked a bit. Both very good speakers and wouldn't go below V5, V3 and V4 are much different in every-way than the newer models the monitor series was completely overhauled when the did V5.

hope this helps

The adp are great surround speakers, but if you want speakers for the s-backs in a 7.1 system i would go with the atoms, dipole speakers are preferred by most for surrounds but not the surround backs as those speakers tend to be more directional. The main difference with the adp and the atoms is cost the adp 390's will triple your cost and the adp-190 will almost double it. I prefer the adp's over conventional speakers for surrounds they fill the room better and make the sound harder to place when watching a movie, and you will love the monitor 7's amazing speakers.

Anyone know the MSRP of the Millenia 300s or 200s, as well as the Sig 2's? Just curious, future planning is all.

Millenia 200 are around $1500 a pair and the 300 are $1900 pair, i will tell you they are the highest marked up speaker that paradigm makes, you can usually find them on the black market for half the cost, and the sig 2's are about $2400 last time i checked but the price may have gone up or down. I would consider the studio 60's of the sig 2's better speaker for the money IMO.

Twitch you are a true wealth of Paradigm information. Thanks. Would you recommend the atoms only for the rear surrounds? Would you recommend it as well for the side surrounds? If not, which would you recommend (atoms or adp) Looking more into the affordable and I did notice the price difference between the adp and atoms. Thanks again.

Thanks, I was looking at the Studio 60s for left and right surrounds and the 10s for rear surrounds but was curious as to the other options in paradigms line around the same price. They had more WAF than the surround speakers from Salk, as I got the "ew" face when I showed my fiance them.

you could go atoms for the surrounds allot of people go this route just because of the cost difference between the adp's. I like the sound of the adp's better for movies over the atoms but both work just fine, and if cost is concern the atoms are around $250 a pair and the adp-190's are $400, the 390's are a better speaker and can handle allot more low end over the 190's but at double the cost. If you like a more direct sound the atoms will be a better choice and if you have never used or listened to dipole speakers you might not like they way they sound, they take a little bit to get use to, i would recommend auditioning both the atoms and the adp-190's and choose what sound you like better.

hope this helps

I will tell you the millenia speakers are a lifestyle speaker and look great but if your main reason for buying speakers is the sound then stay away, i'm not saying they don't sound good just you can get a way better paradigm speaker for your money, the millenia is a speaker designed for a select group of people who are looking for thin modern speakers with good sound and are willing to pay a hefty price for that chic looks. I can tell you the studio 10's are crazy, the bottom end that comes out of that little speaker will blow your mind, i'm looking at upgrading to the studio line next year and want to go with 7 studio 20's, with dual subs.

I currently have Boston Acoustics VRS for rears (i think they are dipole or bipole) I never knew the difference but they do have speakers on both sides similar to the adp. I plan on using them for the sides and atoms for rears. Hopefully they work okay mixed with other manufacturers.

For those interested in Paradigm and Paradigm Reference pricing, I have posted a list of what I got from my Dealer for Canadian pricing and for U.S. pricing from the HomeTheater Magazine Buyers guide issue in January - except prices were changed to the v5 version of the Studios since the Magazine prices show v4 prices.

Suggested MSRP for Paradigm and Paradigm Reference speakers. Canada prices listed first - U.S.A. listed second.

Great post. Now, could you spot me $9000 CND (taxes in) to pick up a pair of S8s?

Hmmm... Step 1. Rent a fast get-away car. Step 2. Buy a beleclava. Step 3. Pick an accessible bank. Step 4...

Suggested MSRP for Paradigm and Paradigm Reference speakers. from DLS_222

Wow
With my speakers and receiver blu-ray wiring & HDTV and stand I have
well over 5k retail ? No I did not pay retail. I have down grated over the years. But I am happy with my system.
Things can add up quick. And for some of you what I spent is nothing.

PS seen the new Star trek movie last night. Cant wait for it on blu-ray.

I got em too.

Suggested MSRP.. also remember you can sometimes get up to 20% off MSRP depending on your dealer. That's the max I think that Paradigm will allow unless model is discontinued.

AMS-350 - 599 cdn/ea, 579 usd/ea
AMS-300 - 369 cdn/ea, 349 usd/ea
AMS-250 - 299 cdn/ea, 279 usd/ea

Haha! When I first moved to Canada in 1993 I noticed on the weather map that it went from 0 degrees (white) and got bluer and bluer as it got colder in temperature...except for this place called Winnipeg where it was pink for -40 or lower!

Zoinks!

Finally got my Studio 100's and CC-690 in today. Very happy to say that they are in mint condition and in perfect working order!! The Black finish is actually pretty smooth and nicer looking than I thought it would be.

Will take some pics later tonight or for sure sometime this weekend.
